I always left one orange in each of our children stockings and that was to remind them that their grandparents only got one orange for Christmas. no toys nothing else they were raised during the depression years
I wanted to instill in them a sense of family tradition as they were surrounded with tons of gifts and presents that wasn’t always that way for people in our family or other family for that matter I like this tradition.

Every Christmas Eve, the whole family opened one gift each: the Christmas Jammies that we would each sleep in that night. Then, everyone wore their Christmas Jammies while opening presents the next morning. Our photographs are so special… all of us in our silly Jammies!

Our family tradition is making or buying our two children a new special unique ornament to open every christmas eve. They have loved to look at them over the years on the tree. They can collect them and take with them when they move out to carry on tradition. Just mark year on them.
