Piles of dirt, debris, crushed cars, and destroyed homes are now what you see when you walk down the cluttered street of a close-nit community in New York. Hurricane Sandy not only took homes and businesses, but robbed the lives of many. This drawn-out devastation left tens of thousands without power, without transportation, without warm water, without a home.
Joshua Brown, filmaker and photographer (Joshua Brown Photography ) beautifully documents the destruction and the massive clean up from volunteer groups such as the Mormon Helping Hands and has given permission to share it with you along with the above frames from the footage he shot.
You got to see this.
This time of the year our hearts are open to those around us who may be struggling this holiday season. Whether it be a simple gift to the neighbor or a service project for a family in need- we all have the desire in our hearts to help…but sometimes we get stuck on… HOW?
Print these tags and fill in the individual code for each person and attach it to a gift such as the Hot-Chocolate-in-a-Jar like we did here.
What is this? MORE printables!?
Tis’ the season of giving right? I have two versions of each printable with different fonts!

3. HAVE FUN!
Don’t forget to have fun and take the time to enjoy the experience of the magical time of the year! The more fun your kids have while serving- the more they will want to seek out more projects to do on their own!
Visit me on my blog: Weedstowishes.com to find out more on how we created the hot chocolate stand and how to get your children involved.

I saw a neighbor doing this Hot chocolate stand at the High School cafeteria and it was a hit. Why have a soft drink when you can have hot cocoa.

This is such a BEAUTIFUL idea! Thank you for sharing it with all of us! I can’t wait to set one up for the kids because there are so many that need help right now. It’s a perfect add-on to our recent post, “Kindness Inspires Kindness” makinglifewhimsical.blogspot.com/2012/12/kindness-inspires-kindness.html. My kids were wondering how they could HELP. Now I have a way! Thank you! May your holiday be ever so wonderful!
