Our guest this week is Jami, from the fabulous blog “Freckled Laundry” and she is here to share an adorable idea for re-purposing old jeans and transforming them into a holiday advent calendar! A craft that reduces, recycles, and reuses. Can’t beat that! Take it away, Jami!
Hello, sweets.
I’m Jami, creator of the blog, freckled laundry.
I’m a mama to 14 month old twins and a pretty cool 7-year-old. When I’m not completely absorbed in them, I’m remodeling our home on the cheap, decorating, sewing, crafting, all around DIYing,  and blogging about it all along the way. I recently launched my vintage chic, handmade baby shoe line, freckled laundry, on Etsy. I love using upcycle textiles in my projects and I’m am over the dang moon that Bobbi invited me to share my Repurposed Denim Advent Calendar with you!

Supplies & Materials

Denim Advent Calendar

24 denim pockets cut from 12 pair of baby jeans
(I think the tiny pockets work best but any size will do.)

Hemp rope
Hot glue
Number stamps
White acrylic craft paintStep 1
Number the pockets 1 through 24.
Just gently dab your stamp into the white craft paint and press onto the pocket.

Let dry for a few minutes.

Step Two
Flip the pockets over.
Starting with number 1, add a strip of hot glue to the back, and press rope into place.

Be sure to work from RIGHT to LEFT.

Step 3
Hang it up, fill each pocket with a small treat, and enjoy counting down the days til’ Christmas.

It’s a simple and chic calendar, and perhaps a great way to repurpose those jeans that you just can’t let go of into something that will be enjoyed for years to come.
