Happy Friday morning mates! It’s my favorite day of the whole week! Minus the part where I go to school in the morning and then work all afternoon and evening.
OK. So maybe it’s not my favorite day. But for some reason everyone loves Friday, so I’m just gonna jump on that bus. I’m a full supporter of the bandwagon theory.
Moving on to more exciting things. Like clothes. Today class {just go with it. I feel like playing teacher}, we’re going to talk about taking three normal items and wearing them unexpectedly.
Exhibit A: The man’s sweater. Now I know I’ve mentioned this before, but you must know that I’m a firm believer in a little androgyny. Here’s the only thing you need to know: Consider your man’s wardrobe free reign. I do. And my husband’s a TRUE fan. {No he’s not}
Belt basically any top in your man’s closet OR pair it with something high waist-ed so as not to loose your feminine figure and BAM. Congrats friends. You just doubled your wardrobe.
Exhibit B: The long scarf, belted and worn as a shawl{ish} wrap.
To be honest with you, I don’t know if I could recreate this look if I tried. But I made a little video about it a while ago. So you can watch it if you want and tell me if you think you’re ready to handle this kind of scarf-tying intensity.
This is getting deep.
Lastly, Exhibit C: The dress that’s tucked in and worn as a shirt. I mean, to other people, this might just be old news. But when I figured out this little trick for myself the first time, I sauntered out into the kitchen and bragged to my husband about what a genius he was married to. And then he got excited cause he didn’t know he was married to a genius. And then I told him whyyyy and twirled around so he could see my handy work. He nodded his head once, smacked my bum and finished his toast.
Most anticlimactic moment of my life.
Have a good one guys. Come visit me over here!

Oooo .I love the tucked in dress idea. How do you not get it to bunch too much in your jeans though? Justin thinking this one through…. I’m off to look in my closet. 🙂 thanks Syd.

I also twirl in an outfit I have put together and tell my husband “Looook!! How cute is this?!” And keep asking.. until he says “Yeees, very cute.” Haha. Loving the scarf idea! But I’m in Phoenix and now it’s time for shorts and skirts! <3

Great ideas! Too bad my hubby’s 6’4″ and weighs 215. Those clothes will never fit me properly even if I tried!

I love the dress idea too but have the same question as Shelley. Seems like it would make my butt look big and that’s the LAST thing my ghetto booty needs. Meantime, LOVED your story about bragging it to your husband. That is EXACTLY how it would go down in our household. 🙂

I call your exhibit A: Extendadrobe. I loooove doing this, i laughed awhile back. I wore my BF’s sweater and of course wore perfume that day. A couple days later he put it on….after a few minutes he came into the room with this smiley smurk on his face…..”Did you wear my sweater???!!!”””
GREAT idea ladies…and I bet you will get LOTS of compliments if you do it.

Once again Sydney looks so freaking adorable in everything she wears! I love the belted scarf look, and the dress tucked in. I am wondering how you pulled it off in jeans, without looking bunchy. I have paired a dress under a skirt, and worn as a shirt, but never with jeans. Genius, Syd!

Just did the tuck your dress in thing this weekend! 🙂 Instant new shirt!
