Time for a fun little Vday flashback…
Everybody needs a little XOXO for Valentine’s day!
I wanted to do a little countdown for V-day this year for my kids but I needed something to hold the little treats and love notes for each of them each day in February until Valentine’s day. When I saw these (from Target’s dollar bins)…
I knew they would be perfect! But I wanted to decorate them a bit to make them more festive so I went at it Alison style, with vinyl! You could use stickers instead if you don’t have access to a vinyl cutter. I put each kid’s initial on the front…
XOXO on the side…
and a heart on the other side.
Fill it with treats and you are ready to make someone very happy!
Need some ideas of what to put IN your cute little mailboxes? Angela and Heather over at the Creative Homemaker have some FUN, SIMPLE, and CREATIVE ideas like these bookmarks (for more of these ideas search her Valentine’s Day tab and scroll down a bit)
I also LOVE these simple creative ideas for fun LOVE day games !
Alison had a great countdown idea last year involving love notes in this love pillow…
I also used some vinyl to spice up this glass jar for my kid’s teacher.
Apply some vinyl XOXO
Fill with chocolate XOXO
And you are set!
Hope you are inspired to share some XOXO for L.O.V.E. Day!!!

Help! These are adorable, but how do you get the lettering cut? Is it a Cricut cartridge font? Is there a secret to doing this adorable lettering that I need to know? I have vinyl, I have a Cricut, but apparently I don’t have the know-how! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Shelley says
This was made on a Silhouette using a pea-font from http://kevinandamanda.com/fonts/fontsforpeas/ Hope that helps! 🙂
susan says
Thanks so much for replying! Does Silhouette not use cartridges like a Cricut? I’m so confused!
Missy says
No cartridges, it hooks up to your computer so you can use any font you have on your computer.
Susan says
Ah! I did some research and I see that the Cricut doesn’t seem to have the same capabilities. Doesn’t it figure? Thanks for your help!

Your website is A-MAZING!!! Im so loving the crafts with vinyl. I have a cricut…so do I just buy vinyl sheet s at Michaels or Hobby Lobby??
How do I print letters on scrabooking paper? Is there a certain software I need to do this.
Thanks!
Missy says
Thank for the kind comment! Yes you can buy vinyl sheets at craft stores. I am not familiar with the cricut for what type of vinyl it uses, but I would imagine it is similar to the Silhouette where you can use any brand. With the Silhouette you can use their pens to print onto scrapbooking paper…again not sure with the cricut. Have fun!
April Ward says
Great ideas! What do you use as a vinyl cutter?
Cindy says
I went to Traget the other day. This is always a fast one that gets away.
I bought 50 of them.
Ashley gunson says
Such cute ideas. Can’t wait to see my girls faces when I start this countdown.
Crystal says
I’m in love with the mailboxs!! What a creative and cute way to countdown to Valentine’s Day. Love it!!
Julie says
Cute, calling it LOVE day. However, the Christian history of Valentine’s is so rich I’d hate to lose it by renaming the day. Our holidays have become so secular as it is. 🙁
