**We joined forces with RewardStyle and Walmart on this sponsored post. All opinions are our own.**
One of the best parts of the holiday season (besides the pies obviously) is all the holiday guests. I just love having my home FULL of loved ones. Sometimes, those guests that live farther away stay with us over night.
Some of us are lucky enough to have a whole extra bedroom for guests. Others of us might have to convert an already used room, like a kid’s, into a guest oasis. This isn’t always an easy task, but it can done quickly with just a few “touches” of holiday comfort.
I decided to join forces with Walmart, and take on the challenge of converting my youngest daughter’s room into a guest bedroom. I have to admit, I’m absolutely in LOVE with the results. The best part? It didn’t break the bank!
I’ve been so impressed by Walmart’s FAST and free shipping (for purchases $35+)! It’s a total game changer since so many items can be to my doorstep lickity split. Additionally, Walmart also has a HUGE selection! Did you know they also offer items sold by 3rd party sellers? This means SO much more to choose from and use in your holiday decorating (and year round). Another feature I adore is the ability to shop by STYLE. This makes shopping SO much easier! All my favorite things TOGETHER!
I was grateful to find so many stylish treasures AND have them arrive so quickly! Way to go Walmart!
First I replaced her sheets with some more seasonal feeling buffalo check sheets.
I was amazed what a small change did for the whole look! Doesn’t it look gorgeous?
Plus, I can never say no to buffalo check. Give it to me in any form – clothing, table runners, and sheet. I’m all in.
I think they look so chic and cozy!
I do need to mention, they are equally as SOFT as they are darling. Anyone would want to curl up in those!
Let’s all discuss throw pillows.
I’m convinced that throw pillows are the easiest way to change up the decor, and consequently, the feel of any room. For a more holiday feel, I decided to go with some texture. Nothing says “cozy” like a warm sweater. These throw pillows added that element of texture I was looking for. That sweater like fabric against the buffalo check sheets? That’s winning combination if I’ve ever seen one!
It just keeps getting better.
All the interior designers I love regularly incorporate greenery into their decor. It adds a natural and thoughtful to touch to a space. That being said, I’m always hesitant to use it because I have visions of my sweet great grandmas ugly, dust covered silk flowers garnishing every surface of her house. Bless her heart. That’s just not my style.
Good news is, greenery is EASY to incorporate into the holidays.
Hello, Christmas trees!
I didn’t have space to put up a BIG Christmas tree, but I did spot this darling small version. It’s the perfect size for a night stand and adds a little magic to my guest space. I may even put a little gift under the tree for my guests!
Finally, I did incorporated some more greenery via a wreath. I honestly wish we could use wreaths year round. They just scream FESTIVE to me while still being subtle. I thought about hanging a wreath in the window, and though that would totally suffice, I then laid my eyes on this mirror.
It’s, in my opinion, one of the prettiest mirrors in all the land, but it also serves a function in my guest space. Mirrors really create an illusion that a room is bigger than it really is. This floor mirror, with the hung wreath, added the perfect touch to the room. Additionally, the mirror is functional! Now my guests can get ready IN the room in case the shared bathroom gets a little busy. 🙂
Side note, don’t you just love a classic boxwood wreath like this?
There you have it.
A few very simple ways to maximize a temporary guest space and create a cozy holiday oasis for those loved ones coming to spend time with your family.
I think it turned out lovely and I know your space will as well!
Now, who brought the family games?

I was going to ask the same thing. I’ve been looking all over the internet for it!

Sorry for the delay ladies! Most of the items in the room are from Walmart. That specific comforter is from Pottery Barn Teen.

Thank you!
