If you are looking to be the star of the next potluck, then I’m about to become your best friend. I have prepared these for many a potluck and they disappear super quick. They are soft pretzel bites with the BEST EVER honey mustard dip – and this isn’t just any honey mustard, this is the epitome of all honey or mustard related dips. It is yummy. Seriously.
I know your mouth is watering, so let’s get to it, shall we?
First of all – you will start by preparing the same recipe for my German Style Soft Pretzels that I shared a while back.
Follow the recipe as written until just before you start to shape your pretzels. I’ll let you just use the recipe from that post, rather than reposting it here. Once you get your eight equal pieces divided up, things get just a bit different.
You take your 8 pieces of dough and, instead of shaping them in those lovable pretzel shapes, you will roll them out into 8 long ropes (or ‘snakes’ as my kids like to call them.)
Taking a sharp knife, or a clean pair of kitchen shears, cut them into bite-sized pieces.
Continue with the rest of the instructions – boiling the pieces in the water/baking soda mixture, brushing with the egg yolk mixture, sprinkling with sea salt and baking.
Let them cool on a baking rack. Have mercy.
Now, while they are cooling, we will whip up this delicious Honey Mustard Dip!
Honey Mustard Dip
Ingredients:
- 1 cup mayonnaise (or you can use whipped dressing like Miracle Whip)
- 4 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
- 2 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 6 tablespoons honey (use more or less depending on taste)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Directions
- Mix the mayonnaise, yellow mustard, Dijon mustard, honey, and lemon juice together in a bowl. Serve immediately, or prepare ahead and chill overnight.
Serve up those pretzel bites with this amazing dip and you’ll see why they disappear at every potluck. You’re welcome.

Replace mayo with horseradish sauce for a nicer dip….

Do you think the pretzels can be made a head and frozen? Just dough before baked or after?
