Hi there! I’m excited to be back this month to show you how you can rock french braids, no matter your age! My young daughter asks for this style often, and lovingly refers to them as “farmer braids.” This is a darling style on little girls, however, I found it was not as darling on myself. That is until I learned some tips to liven it up!
Follow the instructions in the video below to create two fairly tight braids. Then make sure you try out these tips to make it your own!
- Pull out some hair around your face and in front of your ears. This will make it look more effortless, and lived in! Start with just a few strands and slowly add more until it’s just right.
- Gently pull on the braids to make them more full, and a little uneven. Start at the bottom and work your way up. You can just pull a little bit, or a lot if you really want to rock out! Careful not to pull too much on the top part of your head. If you do, just use your fingers to lightly tuck the strands back in place. Everything should smooth out just fine!
- Own it! Pair your braids with a cute and confident attitude, and you will be ready to take on the day.
I have had a lot of fun with this style, and now have fully embraced the “farmer braids.” I hope you can too! Whether you are heading out to a lunch date with the girls, or dancing your heart out alone in your kitchen, I know you will have fun rocking these french braids!
I would love to hear how it goes! Enjoy the rest of your week and I’ll see you next time!
XO,
Trying new braid with our hair is a great (and inexpensive) way to mix it up with our ‘look’. Check out some of our other braiding tutorials that you are SURE to love!
