“Once you have had a wonderful dog, a life without one, is a life diminished.”—Dean Koontz
I have had dogs my whole life. There have only been brief moments when I have not had a dog or two, and I honestly believe that a life without a dog “is a life diminished.”
Lola is my dog now, and she recently turned 10 years old. She has been the most loyal dog I’ve ever had. She always wants to be close and has never needed a leash. Even with a wide open door to the great outdoors, she has always wanted to stay with me. Given the same scenario with my other dogs, I would’ve had to drive around the neighborhood shouting her name.
Loyal, yes. Perfect, no. All dogs have their quirky things but my special Lola has lots. One of these is that she loves to eat all things plastic. In her years, she has eaten two pairs of sunglasses, one pair of prescription glasses, remote controls, Tupperware, and plenty of kid’s toys. Twice she has even chewed off another dog’s collar purely to enjoy the sweet taste of a plastic buckle. I’m sure that her dog friend was grateful to be free from her collar and for her freedom. Despite all of this, I still love her, and she’s a great dog.
Due to her years of eating everything plastic in sight, or maybe simply due to her age, she has developed a sensitive stomach. I felt that the food I was feeding her wasn’t settling like it use to. I’ve always bought the same dog food. It wasn’t the worst, but I know it wasn’t the best, either. I never fully realized how important it is for dogs to have proper diets.
With most dogs, you can really tell when something is not digesting right in their bellies. That is what was going on with my dog. The sounds, the smells . . . it was obvious. I knew something needed to be changed with Lola. She seemed uncomfortable and I was worried about her. After researching what to do I started with her diet. I found a lot of information regarding the importance of the right ingredients in dog food.
I decided to give CANIDAE® a try. The ingredient list is super simple, and I liked that they only use fresh meat and whole foods. That was probably the best choice for my lovely Lola. I learned that corn, wheat, soy, and chicken by-products offer little or no benefit, and these ingredients are very common in other dog foods. Since switching to CANIDAE®, I can tell a huge difference with her. Her stomach is not upset like it used to be, and she’s much more pleasant when she’s in the same room.
Of the different varieties, I went with CANIDAE® Grain Free PURE Sea dog food. It only has 8 ingredients, and it is easy to digest. It helps support healthy digestion, which is exactly what Lola needs. I love the fact they are a family-owned company and have been around since 1996. I get the feeling they actually care about my dog. Check out their CANIDAE® True Story Video .
Another win with this food is that Lola loves it, and she wastes no time at all to eat her dinner.
I would definitely recommend CANIDAE® for your furry friend. It’s definitely worth trying, especially since they are handing out for our readers! Grab yours before it expires.
