Over the past few years I have been converting our daily household products over to more natural ones. It has been sort of an experiment for me, trying out the latest and greatest products on the market as well as mixing up some of my own. I’ve found some really great products and some less than great products.  One thing I’ve struggled with is finding a great tub/shower cleaner that does the job without being full of nasty chemicals. So, when I heard about the I was intrigued to see what this thing was all about. The inventor is a mom, like me who wanted to find a quicker/easier way to clean her showers without using harsh chemicals.

My children are getting to the age where they can be given chores and cleaning their own bathroom is definitely something I want them to be able to tackle on their own. With harsh chemicals and a bjillion tools I usually have to use to clean, I’ve conceded to being the primary bathroom cleaning guru. I would love to be able to feel comfortable enough with the cleaning products that I could easily pass the torch down to my girls.

So let me introduce this small but mighty cleaning tool to you.

The first thing I noticed is how easy all the parts fit together (it comes packaged in 4 separate pieces – sponge, grout scrubber, wand for cleaning solution, and squeegee).

Then, simply fill the wand with the cleaning solution and you’re ready to get your clean on!

I first used the Shower Shimmy on my stand up shower. Ok, guys, I’ve used A LOT of natural cleaners lately and the smells aren’t exactly what I would call good. This stuff smells amazing. I totally wish your computer screen were scratch-n-sniff so you could see for yourself. The best way I know how to describe it is that it smells like your bathroom is really clean without it smelling bleachy and chemically. Does that make any sense?! Beats the socks off of the vinegar smell that usually accompanies my bathroom cleaning.

And let’s not forget the lather! That’s another thing I really miss from the natural cleaners I have used in the past. I LOVE a good lathered up cleaner, especially when it’s a natural one!

I wish you could see the nastiness the bristles got out of the drain area. I can’t believe I’ve been showering with that grime at my feet! Yuck!

After cleaning out my shower, I decided to tackle my garden tub. The tub is so deep that every time I clean it, I have to get in the tub. As a result, the tub hardly ever gets a good cleaning because I’m very sensitive to any chemical cleaner – in fact, I’ve ended up in the E.R. after cleaning my tub out once because I had a severe allergic reaction and broke out in hives. Needless to say, I’m a little gun shy when it comes to hopping in the tub to clean it.

Thank goodness I didn’t have to worry about that when using the Shower Shimmy! I hopped right in and scrubbed away. The tub doesn’t get used a ton (hello, I have 2 kids so a relaxing bath doesn’t happen much) but I was amazed by the grime it scrubbed off and it was so shiny afterward!

The grout scrubbing bristles were amazing to scrub the sides of the tub. I forgot my grout was supposed to be that color!

My husband said, “You’ve got to tell the people that it’s not only for showers! They could use it on their floors too!” So, “people” I say to you….use it on your tile floors to scrub the grout. 😉 I was amazed at how clean it looked afterward!

I also wanted to note that I don’t have a glass shower but wanted to test it out on my mirrors to see the Squeegee in action. It definitely didn’t disappoint! It’s an amazing feature and makes this tool all you need to clean your bathroom.

When I finished using it I simply hung it on a hook in my shower and it’s ready to rock the next time I need to clean.

So, what do I think of the after using it in my own home? I absolutely adore it! It’s the solution I’ve been looking for in a bathroom cleaning product. Plus, it’s all-in-one so it cuts down on having to grab a zillion different things to clean with. I’m very excited to let my daughters use this to clean their own bathroom!
