Father’s Day Presents
What to get?! What to get!? Isn’t that always the question!? Father’s Day Presents are hard. This year we decided to put a creative twist on a very traditional gift…I found chipboard boxes at Hobby Lobby (you can find them at any craft store). Any size or shape would work.Grab your cutest helpers. Handmade gifts make Father’s Day presents that much more special…Cut out scrapbook paper that reflects the ‘Father’ that you are giving it too. We made one for ‘Pops’ and ‘Pops’ loves music…
Sand the edges… and Stain…
Put a cardboard divider in the box {that doesn’t bow like mine ;)}, fill with pistachios, and add notes: ‘To Eat’ and ‘To Toss’…
Never ever give ‘pre-shelled’ pistachios. They simply don’t taste as good. Make them work for it.
Add some fluff and deliver with love. {This box was for my Dad who loves to golf}. Fathers Day presents,…done.
I picture this gift being shared with the whole family watching a movie, or on a road trip. A gift that will create a memory. 🙂
Since making these little gifts,…my little guy is in LOVE with pistachios. Go figure! 😉

I bought my hubby the complete 1980’s Transformers series. He loved it as a child and now he can’t wait to share it with our son. I am going to make some handmade cards for all the dad’s in my life too.

My hubby starts softball season soon and needs a way to keep his sunflower seeds from spilling out in his bag so I’m trying to figure that one out as a gift from the kids.

I think this is a fabulous idea. These nuts are sort of expensive but would make a great gift. And the way you packaged them is adorable. Better than them being tossed on the floor! 😉

I love this idea!!! I have tins (like the kind sugar/butter cookies come in) lying around the house. Can you mod pod tin cans? If not, any suggestions on a crafty way to use my tins?
I made the “please remove your shoes sign” for my home, love it. I’ll post a pic soon.
Great Ideas, keep’em comin 🙂

Cute idea. I am going to make homemade notepads for my dad that say From the Desk of and then has his name below. I have them designed, just need to print, cut, and make the pads. When I was younger I remember my dad having similar pads on his desk…so that’s where I got the idea.

Can you give an approximate of how many nuts you used? A pound or less? I am ordering bulk online and want to make these boxes for all the men in my family for Christmas. Thanks!
Shelley says
Oh my goodness,…that was a while back. I want to say probably about a pound. It of course depends on what size of box you use. I think you would be safe with a pound per man. 😉 How fun you are doing it for Christmas! 🙂 I’d love to see pictures.
