Cold Cereal. Instant Oatmeal. Yogurt. REPEAT! Blah. Blah. Blah. Blah! Tell me I am not the only one who gets in this breakfast rut?!
My husband often hints that he’d love something different, and THIS is always what he is hinting for. On his Birthday, Father’s Day, or any special occasion, this is his breakfast of choice. Just the other day he talked me in to making his favorite breakfast, and I decided it was about time I shared it.
Good Morning Blueberry Cake
Basic Batter…
Add fresh blueberries {okay, okay, mine were frozen}…
Yes, you are going to have to work for this one a little…
But it is going to be oh so worth it…
{And YES, I used heart shaped baking dishes. Give me a break. This was for my husband…}
Bake patiently…
And start your day with one very happy family…
{This wonderful cake is also perfect for a picnic treat at the park}

Recipe Notes
* Sprinkle a little sugar on top of the cake batter before putting it in the oven. Then again right before serving. Delicious.
*The batter will be thick.
*Extra blueberries never hurt anyone.

Breakfast rut at our house too, only it’s granola, toast, and maybe, MAYBE a limited amount of sugar cereal. And I don’t like granola (yes, I know, bad example), so it’s toast most days.
