I am totally crushing on this amazing salted peppermint mocha lip scrub recipe because it combines all of my faves into something I use daily AND it helps make my lips so smooth! My lipstick goes on so much better since I started using this recipe and the peppermint gives it a little plumping action which I desperately need.
What I love most is that I already had all the ingredients on hand and you just might, too!
Here’s the list of what you’ll need to make your own lip scrub:
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- 1 tsp cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp coarse salt
- 6-8 drops of peppermint essential oil (found here)
Mix dry ingredients (sugar, cocoa powder, and salt) in a small bowl.
Add it wet ingredients (coconut oil, peppermint essential oil, and vanilla extract) and stir.
Yep, that’s it! I store mine in a little flip-top glass jar and keep it beside my bathroom sink.
I apply daily to my lips. Just scrub a little on and leave for a 3-4 minutes then either wipe clean or just lip your lips! I always choose the second option. 😉
My lips are so smooth and love that this is an all-natural product that I can make in mere seconds. Having quality essential oils is at the top of my priority list when it comes to making my own products. My collection isn’t huge but the best thing about essential oils is that you don’t have to have a huge collection in order to make your own natural products. Some of my favorite oils are peppermint, lavender, and lemon. I’m starting to really love frankincense oil and the purification blend from Young Living.
My suggestion is to start small with the basics. Questions? We love to chat about all things essential oils.
