Happy ‘Kid’ hog Day
The ground hog hopes to get a shadow…how about your kids getting one too? This was super fun to do with the kids. We pulled out some old wrapping paper (you could use butcher paper or the scrap paper you can get from the newspaper rolls) and traced the’ kid’ hogs ‘shadow on to the paper.
You can see the wrapping paper here…it was some ugly baby shower gift wrap that I was going to throw away…I mean recycle!
When we finished drawing the ‘kid’ hog we cut the shadow out.
We taped it to the wall and wrote reasons why we love our ‘kid’ hog. Our special ‘kid’ hogs shadow will stay up the entire week as we let her know we love her:) You can do one kid a week or do all of them the same time. Another place to stick the shadow would be on their bedroom door!
You could do this for any reason…it doesn’t need to be just for ground hogs day{FUN}

Great idea! I think I will do it for their birthday week! Make them feel extra special!

Now I’ve always wondered how to celebrate Groundhog’s Day with something besides the goofy movie. (I mean, seriously, after you have watched Groundhog Day once, don’t you feel like you have already seen it 20 times?) I appreciate the shadow theme – we could have an entire shadow party! We could make very tall treats like parfaits or something that cast a long shadow. OH, I am liking this more the more I consider the possibilities. Most of all, I like that you have taken this idea and used it to compliment a family member and turn it into a spotlight week. Oooh – spotlights! One more way to make shadows! Okay, off I go – the fam is going to think I’ve gone shadow mad. *grin*
