They work great at cleaning antique fabrics you do not want to damage them with bleach. I used them a lot when I worked with antique dolls to clean the old clothes safely.
I keep one of the sponges with a handle that you fill with cleaner in the shower. I fill the handle with 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 blue Dawn dish liquid and give a quick scrub down a couple times a week, depending on how often you use shower. And just keep it hooked on shower door upside down
I use them for cleaning my children’s reusable straws for their cups. Sometimes things get stuck in them, even after going through the dishwasher. If you put them in a flat container, use denture cleaning tab, cover them with hot water, and let them soak for about 30-45 minutes, it works like a charm. I like to move the container back and forth to make sure the cleaning solution gets through the straws and cleans them thoroughly.

I put on in a mug that is tea stained with some water and overnight it is all clean, put in the dishwasher for a thorough clean and are good to go! 🙂
