The Japanese have a special way of gift wrapping. They use a big piece of paper that they fold in a special way, so as to use only one piece of tape to hold everything together. Not only is it practical, it is also very beautiful!
Watch how the Japanese wrap presents.

That’s really cool! I want to learn how he did that (but I saw him use 3 pieces of tape, I think)! 🙂

How do you calculate how much paper to use?

^Great step by step how-to both measure and fold for different sizes

Not enough info! How do you size the paper? And I also saw the man in the video use 3 small pieces of tape. It looks as if he did that to make it a little easier on himself, but that it would be possible with only one. I am pretty conservative with tape, though, and would rather not use so much paper. To each his own, I guess. But still interesting.

I also watched one of the other videos recommended after this one was over. I’m not sure how it’s better, it’s just different. Both videos used more than one piece of tape. The second video showed how complicated the method really is. It took her a lot longer to wrap the package than it takes me. I think I’ll try it just to have a different look.
