I have saved my Christmas cards over the years and one year, I took some of the old cards and found a pretty scene from the card and used my decorative scrapbook scissors and cut it out and then I use them as gift tags. I get many compliments on them.

Instead of separating lights into Ziplocks … use Walmart bags… everyone has plastic bags laying around!

I store ornaments wrapped in tissue in shoebox or envelope boxes from our office letterhead. On the lid I write what ornaments go in that box, and maybe the year we got it or who it was from. .sometimes 10-15 fit in a box. Saves lots on space.

Hi,
These are all great, I will be using some for sure.
One tip that I have to share is to get a wine box from your local Trader Joes or wine shop and use that to store your ball/bulb ornaments, They already have the segments in there and the ornaments stack up really nicely.
Thank you!

We don’t use the Christmas balls. All of our ornaments are ornaments that have been given to the kids throughout the years, so they are individually wrapped in packing paper each year and put in a big tote.

Loved your ideas! I plan on using the silver hoop idea on years of Christmas cards I’ve saved. I put up 6 trees and a lot of other decorations. My husband brings down from the attic large rubber made totes and I have one for each room. The den, dining room, living room, kitchen etc. I label each tote for each room. It makes it easier when pulling it out in December.

Use last year’s Christmas cards to send to Vet hospital or to soldiers. Addresses on Internet. Cut card in half, glue front to construction paper, fold & let your kids decorate/write/use stickers inside of paper. The Vets love it & it gives the kids a purpose to recycle, share a sentiment , or complete a club project. It doesn’t matter the age of child. Mail cards in large envelope by Nov. 1, no glittery ones, & they prefer no religious emphasis. BUT “bless you” never hurts anyone!
