Most of us have heard of Amazon. MANY of us have ordered from that handy site, and had products show up at our door as soon as the next day. It’s AMAZING. I’m a huge fan! We’re breaking it down and sharing our favorite Amazon Deals and tools which you might NOT know about. (note: some of these are affiliate links)
1. Prime Trials
If you haven’t tried Amazon Prime and fallen in love, now’s the time. This is my life saver. FREE 2 day shipping. Everything at your fingertips and delivered to your door step. You can try a FREE 30 day trial here. Cancel within those 30 days OR continue for $99/year. Your subscription can be shared with 4 members of your family.
2. Subscribe and Save
This is a great service that can save you major dough. Get shipments of things each month, or every 6 months – whatever time frame your heart desires. I personally get a subscription of diapers every 2 months. No need to reorder, you just set it up so they come automatically in the time frame you set. Best part? Do this, and get percentages off! And yes, you can change or cancel at anytime.
3. Amazon Student FREE trial PLUS Earn FREE Money
Are you a student? Know a student? As long as you have a .edu email address OR proof of enrollment (tuition bill, student ID etc.) you can sign up for this free trial. As a student, you can get killer deals and FREE 2 day shipping. Think about how much this would save you every time your student calls with “MOOOOMMM, I’m out of <fill in the blank>. Try it out with a FREE 30 day trial!
PLUS, right now, for every friend who signs up, you get $10 in Amazon credit. FREE MONEY!
4. Amazon Warehouse Deals
A hidden treasure of Amazon. Warehouse deals are products which are “open-box, like-new, and pre-owned products”. Some of these items might be refurbished or have damaged packaging or something similar. The good thing is, these items are deeply discounted. You’ll be able to find everything from electronics, to kitchen tools to camping equipment. Definitely worth the look!
5. Amazon Mom FREE trial
This is every mom’s dream. Free shipping. 20% off diapers (combine with Subscribe and Save to save major $$). Special discounts. You’ll LOVE this service. What a great gift for someone else with a baby! Try it NOW for 30 days FREE!
6. Today’s Deals
Just to the right of the Amazon logo (homepage) is a link to the daily deals. These are AWESOME deals which change daily. Below that, there are lightening deals which only last for a limited amount of time. Pay special attention to these around the holidays. Readers raved about the fantastic (but quick) deals they found here – many from links we posted on our facebook page.
Below that, there are also local deals. These are for special deals for your area. These include services and products. Sometimes, you can catch movie tickets on here! Love getting a full price ticket for less!
7. Registries (Baby AND wedding)
No need for you, or your guests to make ANOTHER trip to a big box store for a blender. Click, and ship (and save 10% off most products). All you have do is create your registry HERE for weddings or HERE for babies. Amazon seriously has EVERYTHING you’d need. (For some great baby ideas, see this post) Best part? It’s UNIVERSAL. Meaning, you can add things to your registry from OTHER websites. Pretty cool. There’s also an extended return policy!
8. Coupons
Everyone loves to save a penny! Did you know Amazon had COUPONS? Yep. Combine these with already discounted products and you get yourself a good deal. Be on the look out for them under your product order button OR see them all HERE at the bottom of the page.
9. Free Kindle books AND FREE Kindle App
Love to read? Want some free books to download to your Kindle? Amazon has you covered. Or wait, are you like me and don’t own a Kindle? No biggie. Just download a FREE Kindle reading app or any device and you’ll be able to break into your favorite book NOW! Need some book recommendations? We have some HERE.
10. Free Audible
Like to read, but no time to do the actual sitting down and reading? Get a FREE audio book HERE! Driving the car pool just got FUN! 🙂
11. Buying Choices
In the right hand margin, just below the normal ordering box, there is an option called “more buying choices”. If you click on this, you can see other sellers on Amazon (a 3rd party) selling this item. SOMETIMES, they are cheaper than Amazon. Just be sure to take into account the shipping as this can often make the price higher than with Amazon Prime. You can sort these items by price + shipping to help.
12. Free music.
If you have Prime, you can get TONS of music streamed. Like every song you can think of. Even if you don’t, you can get lots of music streamed FREE HERE.
13. Instant Video and TV show streaming FREE trial.
This is one of my favorite features of Amazon Prime. They have over 40,000 movies and tv shows you can stream instantly to your computer or other device. Catch up on all that TV watching you HAVEN’T had time for. My kids love the kid shows on there. I have several friends who have given up cable altogether in lieu of this service. Try it out for 30 days FREE.
14. Amazon Pantry
Ahhh yes, you CAN get diet coke and Cheetos delivered to your door. This my friends, is heaven. Learn all about it HERE.

How do you split it with your family?
Krista says
My family shares. We just all use the same account. We all trust to use the correct credit card and change the ship to address. It does get a little tricky with 4 kindle books tho.
Rebecca says
You can share your Prime membership with other accounts nicer the Manage section for your Prine account. Whoever paid for the membership will need to ended the email address associated with the accounts of the users they wish to add…and possibly that person’s birthday. Those people will get an email letting them know someone would like to share Prine benefits with them. They been to click through the email then enter the sender’s birthday to confirm. Once you’re set up, everyone can keep their credit cards, shipping settings, purchase history, reviews, etc. all separate.

My grandkids have a list under wish list – I go there & know what they would like to have for b-days, Christmas, just because, etc. The account is their Dad’s, but he as one for him and each of the kids. It also marks purchased if you buy it from Amazon or you can mark it purchased if you buy it somewhere else. NO Duplicates!!

I too want to know how you split it with your family? I assume you don’t all live together…
Amber says
I did the Pantry Box for the first time last month, LOVED it! I am for sure going to do it again. The shipping price is totally worth it. While the item’s prices are the same as my local stores, it saved me at least an hour of shopping time.
Keri says
We have Prime and LOVE it. Especially now that we live in the middle of no where without even a Walmart.
Isn’t splitting the cost with your family members that don’t all live in the same house being dishonest? It says multiple times on the website that it is for people in your household. I’m sure that wasn’t what it is set up for. What you do is your choice but I think you shouldn’t be encouraging others to do it as well.
Amber says
When I click on the coupon link, it sends me to the daily deal page. Where can I find the coupons?
Jules says
You forgot one; if you have an Amazon Visa, you earn points, which then can be used on any purchase. If you do a lot of buying on Amazon, it can really add up. When you check out, there is a prompt asking if you would like to use your points, which translate to real $$!
