We recently needed some birthday wrapping paper but didn’t have any in the house. The store we went to didn’t have any “birthday” wrapping paper either so we went with plain yellow. Talia (my 6 year old) wasn’t too impressed with how plain it was, so we came up with a simple solution!
I grabbed her a Sharpie & she went to work!
This is the easiest way to personalize giftwrap, EVER!!
(Step 1: Wrap your gift with plain colored paper. Step 2: Wrap with a ribbon. Step 3: Decorate with a Marker. )
It doesn’t require any crazy tools, it doesn’t take any prep time, and it lets your child be really creative! By the time he or she is finished, you might find yourself wishing you didn’t have to give it away!
And here’s a bonus: no card required 😉
I hope you’ll try this out next time you have a reason to! It’s so simple and your kids will love to do it, and be proud of their work of art when they’re finished! (of course, you can add sparkles, stickers, and any other craft supplies you have on hand if you’re not down to the wire like we were! ;))
I hope you’ll stop by Raising Memories Blog to find more fun things to do with & for your kids.
I’d love to see you there!

I love the idea of decorating post-wrapping; I’ve done it with the flat paper but never like this! The seasons idea is darling – glad you got pictures!
