It’s that time of year again! The sun is beginning to shine, the flowers are blooming, and if you’re like me, you suddenly have the urge to deep clean every thing you own.
Since it’s always a bit strange for me to feel the urge to clean, I researched this “spring cleaning” phenomenon and found out that it is actually proven to be a real thing that happens to your brain when the weather starts to change (and other scientific stuff we won’t get into.) Cool eh?
Just because I have the urge to clean doesn’t mean I’m necessarily the best at it. There’s so much to do, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. I tend to be good at starting projects, but not completely finishing them. With two small kids, I wanted to figure out some efficient, fast and easy cleaning tips, so I took it to our Facebook page. {You guys ALWAYS come through for me!}
I asked our readers, what their favorite cleaning tip or cleaning product was, and here were a few of their answers:
Fantastic, right?! I personally love the newspaper method. You can read more readers favorite cleaning tips here.
I love this tip from Kim. Sometimes I get in such a hurry to get things done right, I forget I could be teaching my little girl a valuable lesson.
Spring cleaning can be a family affair! My little girl loves to get the squirt bottle (filled with water) and spray our windows. She also loves to help sweep and mop. It’s not always done perfectly, but she IS helping out. {In her princess attire, of course.} 🙂
Here’s some more ideas on how to let kids help with Spring cleaning. Brilliant I tell you.
One important thing I learned from our readers is just how important it is to clean your dishwasher! I know what you’re thinking, “It’s a dishwasher! Doesn’t it clean itself every time you run it?” That’s what I thought too. Wrong.
Cleaning your dishwasher is vital to keep it running smoothly and operate correctly.
Thanks to these dishwashing cleaning tips, I now use vinegar and baking soda to give my dishwasher a thorough cleaning. It shines like a new penny now! I also use TANG to clean it when it becomes a little discolored. Pretty nifty.

I tried to subscribe to your newsletter/posts and got a message that it is no longer active! My dear daughter in law put me on to your site and I love all the hints. But of course she can’t post ALL of them on her FB page, so I want to make sure I get them all, and decide which one I need to keep! (All of them, really, if space on my iPad were no object!)
Thank you for all the wonderful ideas that you share.
