As a kid, I hated French Toast. Maybe my mom made it the wrong way, but it was always soggy, and eggy tasting. Bleh. {I love you Mom}. After getting married, I had no desire to make french toast for breakfast for my family. That was UNTIL I discovered the most amazing secret ingredient.
Oh YES. I could drink this stuff straight from the bottle. I started using it in my smoothies (a-mazing), discovered how to make milk steamers with it (to die for), and one morning when my husband requested French Toast (ugh), a magic recipe was born. Instead of using milk, I replaced the milk with French Vanilla Coffee-Mate.
Another secret to the success was using FROZEN bread. It soaks up the perfect amount of egg mixture, without leaving the bread soggy.
Make sure to get THICK Texas Toast. WHITE, THICK BREAD. FROZEN. Got it? As much as I love healthy wheat bread, there is a time and place for it, and this is NOT the time, NOR the place.
Lastly, if you have coconut oil, spread it on your griddle before cooking. Butter works almost as well. No Pam. No Margarine.
(Yes we are obsessed with coconut oil around here. Don’t forget you can try our favorite brand, Nutiva, for free by using your $10 credit from Vitacost).

Once you’ve made your basic french toast mixture with french vanilla Coffee-Mate, grab your FROZEN bread from the freezer. Flip each slice four times in the mixture (twice on each side) and place on a hot griddle. Let the edges get nice and toasty. Make sure to keep a close eye on them to get the perfect texture.
Then, cover with your favorite toppings—powdered sugar, syrup, or whipped cream.
I am sure Coffee-Mate’s other creamers are incredibly delicious too. Let me know if you discover any out-of-this-world flavors.
Do your family (and yourself) a favor, and make this for breakfast this week. The perfect way to start a perfect day.

We use coffee creamer in French toast too. We love the cinnamon vanilla and the caramel vanilla flavors. It’s super good in pancake batter, frosting, and just about anything haha!

We have used this SO many times. My family loves the flavored creamers; most recently it’s the Bailey’s Irish Cream ones (Toffee Almond today). Yummy! I also use coffee creamer instead of milk when I make frosting.

Eggnog also works well for both french toast & pancakes to give them a yummy special twist! There are tons of fun flavors to try now too 🙂

Since I am unfortunate enough to only have powdered creamer (still french vanilla) i did a half powder/half water sort of thing. Came out amazing! I seriously want to try this recipe with other coffee creamers now, and will tell my family about it. 😀 Thank you very much!!

How much powder to water ratio. 2/3 of water and mix in powder to taste or what?

This is how I make my French Toast too! My girls LOVE it. The seasonal creamers are delicious too! Peppermint in winter, and pumpkin spice in the fall.

How much creamer do you use? Your recipe says 2/3. 2/3 cup, tbsp, tsp? Thanks!
