Make this count down to candy so your kids will know the answer to the question ‘How many days left until Halloween?’
1. Mod Podge (click here to get tips on perfect mod podging) all 6 sides of the 2 top blocks with Halloween paper.
2. Mod Podge one side of the longer block on the bottom (I just did one because it’s all you’ll see).
3. On the first block you will put the numbers1,2,6,0,7,8
4. On the second block you will put the numbers 1,4,3,5,2,0
5. Sand the edges
6. Apply Vinyl
10. Stain
11. Let dry and add a thick ribbon
12. Admire your ‘hard’ work:)

Alison,
I have been looking around for 4 X 4 posts that are not pressure treated (and without chemicals) so they are safe for kids to handle. Can you tell me where you found yours or maybe I just don’t let them handle them. I guess I could glue a couple of 2X4s together 1st and then cut blocks but that seems like a lot of trouble.
Thanks a bunch!

When you say Halloween paper, do you mean, Halloween scrapbooking paper? Wrapping paper? Fabric?
I am wanting to make one but not sure about what paper to use.

Need some help on this
I have everything to make this but whenI look at the numbers it does not have the number 9
can you look into this and tell me what numbers to put on the blocks
just waiting to finish this up thank you
Laura says
I was just about to finish up my blocks and I am confused as to where I need to put a 9. There is no 9 listed in the directions.

It’s the 6 – upside down.

Do you Mod Podge on top of the vinyl to finish it off, or just Mod Podge the paper to the wood?

What fonts did you use?

Just an Idea –
If you use more “fall colors” for the number blocks then on the long block the other side can say “Count down to Turkey” or “Count down to Thanksgiving”
2 crafts in 1!
Sadly I thought about this too late to do it to the one I made

Those are so cute. We just made a bunch at homemaking for Christmas. Only $4, I’m giving them as teacher gifts at Thanksgiving so they think I’m so on the ball!!!!! I just hope my 5 kids don’t tell them the truth!

Very cute! Where do you get the vinyl letters for all of your projects?
Diannaha says
What kind of stain did you use at the end?

I love this idea! What size blocks did you use? Also what font?

Where do you find the unfinished wood blocks? I have found the square ones but not the longer blocks?
