Beginning my 7th month of pregnancy in the eastern August heat has helped me determine two things:
A: Pants {unless they are stretchy pants a-la Nacho Libre} are no longer conducive to activities involving me with a smile on my face. Also known as eating.
B: I have absolutely no desire to go purchase new clothing that I will be able to wear for exactly 3 months.
So … that leaves me with a few options. The first: find a cool, light dress and wear it everyday. The second: Once that gets old in … oh … about a day, STILL wear the same dress everyday … BUT IN DISGUISE! Genius right? Right.
This particular dress happens to be an old bridesmaid dress from my sister’s wedding a year ago. Don’t ask me how I sausaged myself into it … because you already have your answer. The ordeal resembled something similar to a meat-packing process. It was a bonding experience for husband and I to say the least. Regardless, it’s cotton and comfortable, THUS I’ve been brainstorming ways to wear it more than once in the same week.
And TA-DAAAAAA. There you have it. I found that by taking most things in my closet {cardigans, button ups … even fitted T-shirts) and tying a little knot near the waist, it works pretty well to layer over a dress and re-work it as many times as you want!
So what do you think ladies? Could you wear this look? What dress would you re-work?

OH my goodness you are absolutely the cutest!!! Seriously!!! I’ve had three children and trust me at NO time was I ever that cute. Think short with a beach ball… seriously people continually asked me if I was having twins and I only gained 25 lbs the whole pregnancy….
I ABSOLUTELY love what you did with the dress! Stretchy tank tops worn as layers under shirts were my saving grace as I had lots of skirts and jumpers which could be left unbuttoned under the layers, yep I had a couple of winter babies and one spring baby so layering was a good thing!

I don’t even bother with the re-work (especially when I am pregnant) I just wear the same cotton dress three or four days in a row 🙂 Very cute though!

Adorable! I am also 7 months pregnant and am dying in the California desert! I actually went out TODAY and bought two cotton, light weight dresses to wear, presumably for the rest of my pregnancy! Thanks for sharing, I’ll be sure to change it up every other day or so:)

I really wish you lived near me and could just rework my closet….because I know for sure it needs it.
Another thought: You might need some maternity clothes for a tad longer than just your pregnancy. The late nights, the tummy that doesn’t go away immediately, and if you plan to BF, then you’ll need either loose tops or button-downs galore. But I know you will definitely figure that out with style. 🙂

I am currently 9 months due on the 26th. I have yet to purchase a single maternity clothing item. In the summer heat dresses and skirts with tank tops are all I rock. GIVEN I’m a stay at home mom and do not need a professional attire these days. But I think I look cute? Maybe I look silly haha. I found allot of sundresses have more than enough room to fit my bump and they are so comfy this time of year. I say hell no to pants when I’m this hot!!!!!
