Who doesn’t love a great makeover?
As a child my little sister Bianca (or “B” as we like to call her around here ) and I loved to play dress up. So, I was thrilled when my little sister came to visit and was in need of a little “makeover” for a photo shoot she was doing. I couldn’t think of anyone better to help than my very good friend Camilla Orosco who is the true genius behind her final makeup and hair.
B was brave enough to let me experiment on her and then allow me to post her “before” photo for the world to see. NO makeup people! Doesn’t she look beautiful anyhow? I am sure she begs to differ.
Okay, so I am fast-forwarding through the part where I talk about her hair since I will talk about it in a minute and I’ll get right to my favorite part…the makeup!
After applying concealer and foundation, Camilla begins by filling in her eye brows.
Makeup Tip: fill in with small feathery stokes in direction of hair growth- not in one bold line!
Then some bright red lipstick is added. It is true that B was a tad worried when we told her we were going red…but after this day she has been converted!
Makeup tip: Start in the middle of your lips and work your way out.
Then, she added a dramatic dark color into the crease of her eye lid making a “c” shape.
Then a lighter color was added to the brow arch and in the corner of the eyes.
Makeup tip: lightly brush to blend for a more natural look.
Lastly, blush and mascara were added.
Now back to the hair. Camilla added a rich chocolate color with lighter tones to add dimension and movement. She also gave her bangs and cropped her hair to frame her face and bring attention to her eyes.
Are you ready to see how she looks?
Drum roll please……
What do you think?
As for the wardrobe- we wanted to give B a folkie look to match a particular song- so, we put her in a jean skirt, and polk-a-dot top with some tall boots. Oh yah and I can’t forget that large leather belt!
Keeping the jewelry simple, we added some dangly earings and a small turquoise necklace for a splash of color.
Thanks B for letting us play!

Love this!

She’s definitely a natural beauty… I’m sure she’d look amazing no matter what they did! I would like to see her bangs more side-swept though, instead of straight down… like in the photo where they’re putting on her make-up. 🙂

She looks fab! I love those heavy bangs. BTW, the orange color on the wall that she is standing in front of for the “Before” picture…..do you happen to know the name of it?? It’s beautiful! I love it!!
Cristi Dame says
Bridgette- I don’t know the name of it but could certainly ask around to see if anyone knows. I will let you know if I get the name!

It is true-Bangs aren’t for everyone but I think with Bianca they create your eye to look directly at her beautiful blue eyes. She is still rocking them to this day. And the best part is that they grow out really quickly so you can have the swept look for awhile and then cut them a few weeks later for a new look! It’s like two looks for one! So fun to change up a look that way!
