Okay, please don’t pass by this post. I know that the idea of “resolutions” can cause the “UGH” reaction, am I right? Okay, then let’s not call them resolutions. Let’s call them goals. I really feel that our ultimate successes come about because of goal setting, and those successes can be hindered when we forget to set firm goals. As the saying goes, an unwritten goal is merely a wish! I have gathered some fun tips and tricks to help in some of the more common goals that we might set this year.
1. Eat Healthier
This is a common goal for so many of us. Is it because we just gorged ourselves on Christmas goodies for the last month? Maybe…just maybe 🙂 Eating healthy is a great goal and we know that you can have your cake and eat it, too (so to speak). Healthy food can taste DELICIOUS and these fruit popsicles are the perfect example.
2. Get More Active
Refer back to #1 for the possible reasons behind this. I know that getting active is a personal goal of mine, and it’s not just for me…I have four gorgeous daughters who want me to stick around for a long, long time. The best thing to remember with this goal is to get active doing something you ENJOY doing. That could be walking, swimming, bike riding, joining a dance class…whatever gets you excited to get up and MOVE. Caley shares some really great tips to help us stay on track with this all important goal.
3. Build Family Relationships
Taking the time to build relationships with those who are most important in our lives is perhaps the most worthwhile goal we could make. We know that our relationships are one of the few things that we take with us throughout our lives, and afterward~! Small and simple changes can make a huge difference in these relationships. Some of our favorite ideas are:
Dear Daughter Diary (or Communication Journal- if you’ve got boys)
4. Have More Fun Together!
When life gets stressful, fun can be the first thing to go, when it SHOULD be the first thing to GO TO. It’s amazing what laughter can heal, isn’t it? Take a moment to “schedule” in some fun activities to do together. Here is a fun idea to get you started:
5. Take Better Photos
This might not be a common goal for most, but for me (and my terrible memory)photos really say a thousand words. Photographs are a wonderful way to tell your story and they will be cherished for generations. Set a goal to either take MORE photos, BETTER photos, or promise to DO SOMETHING with your photos! You won’t regret it. To get you started, check out these tips on photographing your kids.

6. Get Organized
How does your house look after Christmas morning? If you are like me..it pretty much resembles a dump. It is a strong motivation to get cleaning and get organized! It can be a little overwhelming, though. Where to start? Here are a few tips and helps to get you started!
What every Organized Household Should Have
Goal setting can be a very uplifting and freeing thing. It’s important to write down our goals and refer to them often. Just imagine what you can accomplish! Oh, and remember…a year from now, you will wish you had started today. Good luck!
