Colored jeans and three ways to wear them

One of my favorite trends this season is colored jeans. Call me crazy, but there’s just something about wearing a bright pop of yellow, cobalt or red on your legs that just adds a little extra pep in your step. I can’t tell you though, how many times I’ve gone shopping with a girlfriend and have professed my love for a pair of colored jeans on a mannequin, only to have her give me the crazy eye. But I’m tellin’ you, these pop-of-color pants are highly wearable and versatile! And here’s three pics to prove it. {At least with the red kind. Yellow and cobalt are on my Christmas list.}

1. Pair your colored jeans with similar shades. Here, I mixed warm tones together: an orangey-red top, a brown fur vest, red jeans and orange shoes. When working with similar color tones, various patterns and textures paired together keep the outfit fun and interesting! Colored jeans and three ways to wear them

2. Color block three different colors. Here, I worked with primary colors, but you can pull off this look with pretty much anything. Some of my favorite color combinations for the season are jewel tones. Again, pattern mixing keeps it interesting!Colored jeans and three ways to wear them

3. Incorporate the color of your pants into the smaller details of your outfit. Here, I used a broach to accent the red in my pants, but you could use any accessory. Think: a bright clutch, a chunky necklace, some colored bangles or a skinny belt. Colored jeans and three ways to wear them

  9. I have a friend who just got some bright blue jeans from Old Navy, and wore them with some charcoal brown knee-high boots, and all of a sudden, I wanted those pants! I might have to see if I can convince my husband that it’s not so weird!

  21. A lot of you ladies are saying you’re scared about pulling them off – start small! Red jeans look great with a basic black tee, and mustard yellow would look awesome with a gray or white top. Anyone can do solids :]

  22. Gap sold a perfect pair of red jeans this year and they were sold out quick. It’s hard to find a good red….but I love the color in these pics. And I agree….the perfect red lipstick is even harder to find….

  24. Sydney is the cutest! I tried to order some boots she was sporting fromFamous Footwear but they were already sold out in my size. Not sure I could pull off the red jeans but hoping to make an attempt. Thanks for the great ideas! Hoping to win some twine too!!!!!
