Carnival Birthday Bash
Do you know what I love even more than throwing an over the top birthday party? ATTENDING ONE!! My cutest friend Mikelle just threw a perfect carnival birthday bash, and I loved every. last. detail.
We arrived and had our pictures snapped in the most adorable ‘photo booth’ ever. A simple polkadot background captured some perfect party moments.
It wouldn’t be a carnival birthday bash without a little face painting. {Yes, I am the artist behind these MASTERPIECES and YES, I am for hire} 😉The food, oh the food! Snow Cones, Cotton Candy, Popcorn, Hot Dogs, Animal Crackers, Lemonade, and Cake. I had died and gone to Carnival Heaven.{Look at my little stinkers fighting over the popcorn. Popcorn now, boys in 15 years…}These pinwheel cupcake toppers made me happy just looking at them. And finally, the Birthday Boy. What a lucky little guy.
You can get all of the same Carnival Printables from Dimple Prints on Etsy.

Meet the brains behind this 3rd birthday party, Mikelle. Now Mikelle isn’t just some friend,… we go way back when. Back to the days of dance costumes, and barbies. Heck she may have attended my 3rd birthday party?
Five Fun Facts about Mikelle:
1- I love change. I love to change my hair color, rearrange my furniture, I think change is good, it’s exciting.
2- I have had over 20 jobs, I’m only 26… and I’ve been a stay at home mom for the last 3 years. I guess that has to do with the ‘liking change’ thing? Oh, and I’ve never been fired either if that’s what you were thinking!
3- I clean out my closet about every two weeks. If I buy something new I get rid of something old, I’m really good at throwing things out, including my kids toys that clutter my house.
{Mikelle only gave me three, so I am coming up with #4 and #5}
4- Has a diet coke run to Maverick, at least once a day, to fill up her 48 ounce cup.
5- Loves to unexpectedly surprise me at my doorstep {looking drop dead gorgeous} while I am scrambling to find a bra to put on.
SuperHero Power Wanted
To control peoples Moods. Being a wife and mother would be a cinch if I could control my hubby’s and kids moods all the time.

Hi, I am new to this blog and LOVE it!!! Such great ideas!!!! I have a question, I bought the Dimpleprints Carnival Party Printables…my printer is not doing a great job with the colors, they are drab and the red looks more like light red or orange. I am using card stock and trying to put it on the best print quality possible and I bought new ink. Maybe I need a new printer for this sort of stuff. I have a Canon Pixma Photo printer. Any ideas? How do you guys do it?
Thanks so much!!
Erin 🙂
Shelley says
Try printing them at a print shop. Kinkos, something like that. Good Luck! 🙂

Thanks Shelley!

This party was so awesome. really enjoyed all the details. I just loved your photo booth. Did you use a fabric or was it a plastic red and white polka dot background? Would you mind sharing where I could get that? Thank you.
Shelley says
I was red fabric bought from Joanns. 🙂

Very cute party and lovely photos. However, if you are doing face painting for hire please, please, PLEASE don’t DON’T use acrylic paint… ever! There are lots of professional quality, water-based, non-toxic paint brands out there- Paradise, Snazaroo, TAG… If you have questions or need help finding safe alternatives for painting faces please don’t hesitate to email me or join facepaintforum.com! This is not a plug post for them but rather one concerned face painter to another. Thanks!
