The holidays are sneaking up on us and its time to prepare for family time… and lots of it!
In our family we love to play games! (board games, card games, pick-up games). So many of my family memories were created around our kitchen table spending HOUUURS upon hours playing cards and giving each other a hard time (all in good fun of course 😉 ). Funny story: My mom use to not like that all of us would play the occasional game of poker, so we all (dad included) started playing it downstairs and started calling it happy flop. hahahaha, I think she just barely found out like last year what “happy flop” really was. Sorry mom 😉 We love ya.
There is something about a good game that can bring you closer together to friends and family. And although there will probably be plenty of time cooking, cleaning, & binging on netflix.. here are a few games that will be sure to bring a TON of fun and memories into your home that will last a lifetime.
If you’re looking for the best games that are games of chance – I’m talking about things like sports betting and online casinos, we can recommend Stranieri.com which is Italy’s largest online gambling resource. At Stranieri you can find the best casinos without AAMS – which is the regulatory body that restricts Italian players to things like maximum bet amounts.
At the bottom of this list I will put the top 5 board games to gift during the holidays.
This is a classic game that ALL ages can play.
this is a weird little game where you flush a tiny toilet until it sprays someone in the face. Kids think its hilarious! get this for them and you will instantly be the coolest person ever.
Another oldie but goodie. I had a this game as a child but there has been a few updates: game pieces (cardboard to molded plastic gingerbread men); pictures; specialty areas; etc.
This is a family favorite and SO much fun. Try and hit your lever faster than your opponent so you to avoid being pied in the face.
This is my Little girl (Zuri) last Thanksgiving with her cousin (Brooks).

These little bugs are such a hit with younger ones. (the bugs are the similar as bugaloop if you keep reading down below & i’ll admit, they are kinda cute). The game is pretty simple. roll the die, create a path. catch the bug.
This is one of the more popular games of the season. its and action packed, suspense-filled board game of bath time fun!
Race around the board and take turns giving Soggy Doggy a bath. But watch out! He loves to shake himself dry! Get soaked and you’re sent back to start.
Make it around the bathtub and you win!
This is a goofy little game that would be perfect for family game night. The basis of the game is trying to find out “What am I?.
Kids use their heads in more ways than one while asking yes or no questions to figure out if the cartoon on their head.
Similar to bugs in the kitchen, but with a slightly different spin.
Watch the bugs climb through tubes and race through the boards courtyard & hope your bug gets through the obstacles first. My 2 year old got the nano bugs for his birthday and they were BY FAR his favorite present.
Classic game! try to connect 4 discs to win. sounds simple, but you must use strategies to win.
This game was a huge hit last Christmas, and for good reason. imagine your friends and families faces saying “warm meat balls” while having a mouth retractor on. I have found myself on multiple occasions laughing so hard i’m crying(and maybe pee’d a little).
This game is best for small groups 4-10 people.
Another game that will have you rolling on the floor. (talk about an ab workout). You write down several “trigger” words. then the player will have to quickly come up with a song that has that trigger word in it!
ex. my trigger word is “touch”. Now you come up with a song that has that word in it. brrr nrr nrr nrr… “can’t touch this”.
Best played with someone you know well, as you have to try and almost guess what they are thinking. I could play this game all night.
2-8 player game
This is the game that EVERYONE is talking about. A card game for people who are into kittens and explosions and laser beams and sometimes goats.
2-5 players
Played on the Ellen show all of the time! Ive heard some pretty hilarious things come out of friends mouths when they only have 5 seconds to answer.
3 or more people to play this game. there is a JR. version available for 6 and up here.
the telephone game sketched out! bring your sense of humor and stick figures are welcome ;). great ice breaker game.
best played with 8 or more people.
So a lot of these games in this category are deemed playable for younger ages. BUT if you are playing with older more mature brains.. things move along quicker and seem to be more enjoyable. So, I’m not saying those ages COULDN’T play these games. It might just be more enjoyable for everyone if you decided to play with the ages 14 & older. (just from my personal experience).
the ultimate word search. I play this every sunday with my in-laws! probably my favorite game ever. we like big boggle! It adds in a few more rows of letters.
The game of categories but you gotta try to be clever to win this game. Great game to play with a big group!
Roll the dice and add em up! super fun to play with a group of people. great ice breaker as well.
based off of the tv show! Can you name the #1 way to wake someone up in the morning that would be really mean? How about the top talent people wish they had?
Cards Against Profanity
The Family friendly version of Cards against humanity. ( you can feel safe to play this version with your kids and grandma ).
An adult version of the game “apples to apples” but beware…on the box itself says “a card game for horrible people” this is a warning that this is a card game only for people who DON’T have a filter. If you fit in to this category then you will LOVE this game. Bring your sense of humor because this is not for the faint of heart or the easily offended. There is a reason why it is the most popular game on amazon.
If you are already an avid COH player and need the expansion cards, here is the green box & the red box.
Have fun and Happy Thanksgiving
