A Quick Guide to the 12 Most Anticipated Fall Looks
Warm colors
Burnt oranges and browns are especially hot this season. Trend-setters are sporting deep, warm colors like this chunky knit sweater or this cozy weekend cardigan. Don’t be afraid to step into a color you haven’t before.
Wide legs
The verdict is in–skinny jeans are pretty much out and I’m finally okay with that. I gave the wide-legs of my past a lot of pushback until just recently. Now, I’m fully loving the trend with jeans like these All Day Wide Leg Denim jeans. They have just enough stretch to be roomy and comfortable.
Make sure to note the cropped wide leg denim trend too. I like these because they let me show off my shoes.
Vintage Jean Skirt
We saw this denim skirt starting to go viral this summer and now it’s definitely the hottest skirt of the season! It’s a modern twist on a vintage skirt (I took my Senior pictures in the longer version of this skirt 20 years ago!) And it’s a great transition piece from summer to fall as you can layer it with a cardigan.
Plaids
Plaids have always been a staple of fall, but this season, think bigger prints and oversized like this easy flannel pullover. It’s light and fun, perfect for a sunny autumn hike or a mountain picnic.
Dresses
You’re going to see more easy dresses this season like this soft flannel dress paired with Doc Marten boots and cardigans for layering.

Light Layering
Fabrics that are light and loose are trending this fall and a body suit, jeans, and this lightweight cardigan are a solid outfit for any day of the week.
Wrapped Tops
Another nod to the late 90s, early 2000s that you might remember is the wrapped top and it’s coming back in the shape of cozy sweaters for fall.
Comfy Cargos
If you’re getting a total 90s vibe with this season’s styles, you’re right on the money. Not to be left out, cargo pants are one of the hot looks for fall and the name of the game is loose and comfy. These ones are made with mindful materials!
Tucked In
When in doubt, tuck it in this season. Tops like this favorite waffle fitted crew are perfect for that tucked in bodysuit look in jeans, a skirt, or these pleated fit trousers.
Stripes
Earn your stripes this season with more of an understated print like this mock neck sweater.
Solids
Go for a cool, minimalist look as temps drop with my favorite curved hem sweater in eight pretty colors for fall. I own this sweater and it’s a great one…so soft! (You can see what it looks like on in size small here.)
Knitting
Another hot trend this fall to be on the lookout for is knitted pieces like this lovely chunky knitted tunic. It’s both light and cozy at the same time and is beautifully oversized.
