We’re talking the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Did you know you can actually SAVE money shopping at this amazing sale? Nordstrom generally is a little higher budget, but this sale is the one that makes it accessible to many more of us! It’s time to stock up on the BEST, high quality, long lasting brands!
If you missed THIS POST (with our FAVORITE, tried and tested picks for you), you’ll want to be sure to check it out! To recap, Nordstrom has the BEST customer service and a super easy return policy. My favorite perk is FREE shipping and FREE returns. How convenient is that? This sale has a sneak peek for all debit/credit card holders until the 21st. You can sign up for a card here (I love the debit card). This gives you FIRST picks on the sale items that often, if not already, sell out. If you don’t want a card, the public sale starts Friday, the 21st of July.
To save you time AND money, I’ve gathered up our favorite steals and deals on the BEST products for kiddos and back to school.
Let’s be real. Kids grow fast and sometimes that can make you a little hesitant to spend much. I get it. I have 5 kids. I speak your language. However, after chatting with some readers in a Facebook Live I did last night, almost everyone said they would spend a little more on KEY items if they would LAST. Shoes, coats, athletic clothes and jeans were all items readers were willing to spend a little more on. I based this post on those things (although there are TONS more great deals in different categories..so be sure to browse!) Why spend $20 on a WalMart coat that lasts one season, when you can spend $40 and pass it down for 5 seasons? (No hate for Walmart – I just haven’t had as much luck with durability there!) Know what I mean? I’m no expert, but with 5 kids, I’m quickly learning what lasts!
1. North Face Oso Jacket
Know those millions of awkward days when the weathers too cold to go without a coat at recess, but too warm to rock a heavy parka? THIS IS THE JACKET. My twins girls personally own this and I can attest to it’s functionality, cuteness, and durability. IT’s the BEST. We’re going on year 2 (I bought a size big) of wearing these constantly. They wash well and are SOOO comfy. My girls LOVE them, and I feel like they are the best investment. I’ll be purchasing for next year (in a size bigger of course…).
For those of you with preteens/teens, the big girl version is also on sale HERE. You’ll be the coolest mom around!
2. Nike Elite Shorts
It’s inevitable. Your boys will always go through the “basketball short” phase. Whether it’s because they love sports, or because they just want comfort, it’s good to invest in some good quality shorts. I love these Nike Elite Shorts. Nike always holds up well for us (Note: My Nike backpack got me through 3 years of high school and 4 years of college!). These are under $20 and run from size 7 (little boys) to XL in big boys! Plus they come in lots of great colors. You can also find toddler/little guy styles HERE.
3. Under Armour Gear
Anyone elses’ kiddos obsessed with UA? It can be pricey so I was super excited to see a lot of it on sale and under $20! Say, WHAT? yep! These pants are under $20 and perfect for bigger boys! THIS, THIS and THIS long sleeve are only $15! Normally over $25! That’s cheaper than some of the “discount” stores!
They also have lots of tees for $12. $12 BUCKS PEOPLE!!!!
My 7 year old owns a hoodie like this and wears it often. IT’s held up after many a crazy game of recess basketball. And it’s only $25. Normally $40.
They also have lots of cute girls styles so be sure to check it ALL out HERE.
4. A good coat
A coat is a staple piece I’m willing to spend a little more on for my kids as I mentioned before. They wear it almost EVERY day during the school year so it will definitely get some wear – especially if you’re passing on to younger siblings. Here are a few quality ones that are on sale, have good reviews, and I love. Now, is a good time to buy. Once it gets cold, they are never on sale anywhere until around February at end of season.
5. Tennis Shoes
I was shocked when I first had kids just how expensive athletic shoes are. And even more shocked, when I saw how FAST the cheaper pairs wore through! It’s worth a little extra money to get good ones! Most of these are under $40…normally closer to $70. Click on each picture to check out the sale! I personally will be purchasing my kids athletic shoes during this sale!
6. Jeans (under $25)
I would never spend over $25 on a kids pair of jeans. Ever. So here are a bunch that are great quality, long lasting (avoid knee holes!) and super cute!
(I cheated, the last pair are $27, but they’re GREAT jeans!)
Hoping this helps you save a little cash on some good quality clothing items for your kiddos’ back to school shopping! You don’t have to break the bank nor buy 15 pairs of the same jeans that your kid KEEPS getting holes. It pays to spend a little more on certain items!
