I love snacks.
Like, I snack 24/7.
Do you like snacks?
I’ve been trying to really focus on healthy snacking. Good bye Doritos and handfuls of chocolate chips……We try to stick to fruits and veggies and other healthier choices. Sometimes, however, we need quick things to stick in my purse when we’re on the go. I wish I were more prepared with cut up meals and snacks, but I’m just not.
You can’t do it all people, right?
I was super excited when I was introduced to THRIVE Market.
Here’s the jist, you pay for a yearly membership (under $5/month) and you get good discounts (15 – 25% lower than other stores) on healthy products.
Your membership comes access to more than 3,000 of the top organic, non-GMO, healthy products. PLUS, For every paying member who joins, Thrive Market will donate one free membership to a family in need.
I love that. TOTALLY love that.
Making good nutrition more accessible to all.
For me, who doesn’t live near a health goods grocer, and doesn’t want to pay some of the crazy prices there, this was an excellent option. Not to mention, they deliver to your door. Uh. You mean I DON’T have to drag my 4 young children nor my yoga pant clad body out the door? VICTORY!
I wanted to try Thrive foods out myself. Rather, I wanted my kids to try them out. I mean, these little faces CAN’T lie……..
They’re gonna give it to your straight my friends. Like the time they told me I my new hair cut looked like a “a mad peacock – like at the zoo.”
The doorbell rings. There’s a box of healthy snacks I had ordered from THRIVE.
Here’s the lineup.
The kids’ sampler platter. I don’t know why such a simple idea was so effective. Isn’t that the way it is as parents? We think of these complicated, Pinterest worthy ideas (which don’t get me wrong…I do and love), and really it’s the most simple things that get them excited.
Something about this silly sampler platter brought out the adventure in them. Perhaps, it was the idea of trying alot of new things. Maybe it was that they weren’t as overwhelmed with the mass quantity of food they might or might not like. Either way, they ATE IT UP.
They loved being served this way. I think making meal time FUN for picky eaters is a great way to encourage the tasting of new foods!
Popcorn. Turkey Jerky. Bread with almond butter. Z kids fruit strips. Dried Mangoes. Larabars. Freeze dried tropical fruit.
Oh, and dark chocolate. I can’t go without chocolate. And, I didn’t share it.
(Are you proud of me? Food groups people.)
The kids gave it ALL thumbs up – except for the almond butter. They hated the almond butter. (I’m being honest)
Even, the little man was feelin’ it.
A crowd favorite were the Larabars. People, these are SO good. They have all natural ingredients. Gluten free. Vegan. Organic. No added sugar. And my kids ATE THEM (cue angels singing). Dare I say they replace the sugary granola bars of the past? They cost a bit more than the sugar packed ones, but I don’t care if it means my kids will be getting more nutrition and less crap (Don’t tell my kids I just said “Crap”.) Not to mention, I love them for snacks.
I might have them hoarded in my nightstand.
Might.
We begged Thrive to hook you guys up and that they are!
