Fun Frugal Christmas Tradition #11 – Paint Can PJ’s
Many families have the wonderful Christmas tradition of opening pajamas on Christmas Eve. Even as a mother of three, I still get giddy about opening my new Christmas Pajamas! There is something special about receiving brand new cozy pajamas to wear around the house while holiday memories unfold.
This year our family is celebrating this tradition with an extra twist. Paint Can Pajamas! (We can’t wait NeeNee) -To make your own, buy enough empty gallon paint cans for your whole family {from your local paint store}. Have a family night decorating and personalizing each can. These adorable gift cans are perfect décor under the Christmas Tree until opening them on Christmas Eve to find Christmas Eve PJ’s. Use a ribbon to attach a paint can opener to the can, making it a fun unique gift to open!
You can also find an adorable assortment {including ones of the pictures above} of pre-decorated cans by Chic EMbellish on Etsy.
Do you have any unique Christmas Pajamas traditions?

What a cute IDEA!! I started the Christmas pj thing last year with my boy’s first christmas…I can’t wait to add this can to the tradition this year.
And I think I am going to take a picture of each kid in their new pj’s every year and keep them in the can so you can look back through the years and see how they grown up!
CUTE CUTE…I LOVE IT!

I love this! I am actually going to use this very idea to gift some gift cards to hardware stores for some friends who just bought a house. They’re going to be doing a lot of painting, so why not give their gifts in something they’re going to be seeing a lot of? 😉 Love it!
Thanks!

I love the PJ idea. We did it when I was a child and I’ve done it with my girls. One year when two of them were in college I didn’t make the PJs because I thought they weren’t interested in it any more. Boy did I get in trouble! Now i’ve included my son-in-law and this year we’re adding my grandson. Fun, fun, fun!
