This is a big year for Pixar at Disneyland, and if you’re a fan, you need to go. With nearly 20 Disney Pixar films to date, almost all of them are or will be represented in one way or another at the Disneyland Resort. To help you plan, we’ve put together a guide to everything Pixar at the Disneyland Resort. We’ve divided it out into three main areas. First, we’re covering what Pixar attractions you can currently find at Disneyland. The second section is all about Pixar Fest, and the final section is all about Pixar Pier. After you’ve decided when to go, be sure to visit our friends at Get Away Today. Plus, keep reading to get a special promo code at the end of this article.
Pixar currently at Disneyland
If you’re a fan of Disney Pixar movies, then you should visit the Disneyland Resort. But, you don’t have to wait for Pixar Fest to begin or for Pixar Pier to open to experience the fun. You can currently find four open Pixar attractions AND two Pixar lands. In Hollywood Land, you’ll find Monsters Inc., Mike and Sully to the Rescue. It’s adorable and fun for everyone of all ages. Another family-friendly favorite is Toy Story Midway Mania. This is going to be part of Pixar Pier, but the good news for fans is that it has stayed open during construction.
Finding Nemo and Finding Dory each have representation in both parks. You’ll love Turtle Talk with Crush in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure Park. Over in Disneyland, you can go under the sea in the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.
You can also find two Pixar themed lands in Disney California Adventure Park; a bug’s land and Cars Land. You’ll feel like you’ve shrunk down to insect size when you step foot in a bug’s land, where you’ll find rides like Flik’s Flyers and Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train. You’ll also find the “It’s Tough to be a Bug,” theater that occasionally will show extended previews of Disney films.
The second Pixar themed land currently at Disney California Adventure Park is Cars Land. This is one of the most immersive lands at the Disneyland Resort. Cars Land transports you to the town of Radiator Springs, exactly as it is in the movie, Cars. You can ride Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters and Radiator Springs Racers. In addition to these attractions, you can eat at Flo’s V8 Café or the Cozy Cone Motel and meet your favorite Cars and Cars 3 characters. It is a MUST for any family with Cars fans.
Pixar Fest at Disneyland
If there wasn’t enough Pixar at Disneyland, Pixar Fest is coming to the Disneyland Resort on April 13, 2018. This event is a resort wide celebration of all things Pixar. The main events include the Pixar Play Parade (coming to Disneyland with three new floats), the Paint the Night Parade (coming to Disney California Adventure Park with a new float) and Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular, an immersive fireworks show. Pixar Fest will also bring a Pixar Shorts Film Festival to the Sunset Theater in Disney California Adventure Park. You’ll also be able to find limited-time merchandise and food items just for the celebration. No end date has been announced for the event, but we’re guessing it will last through the summer until Halloween Time.
Pixar Pier at Disneyland
Pixar Pier is a new land that is opening in Disney California Adventure Park on June 23, 2018. Even though it will be considered one land, it will consist of four different neighborhoods and a new restaurant space. Each of the neighborhoods will have a different theme, one ride, character interactions and more.
The first neighborhood will be based on Toy Story and includes Toy Story Midway Mania. The most anticipated neighborhood will be themed after the Incredibles and will feature the biggest attraction, the Incredicoaster. The Incredicoaster is the rollercoaster formerly known as California Screamin’, but is getting a complete makeover just in time for the Incredibles 2 movie to premier. The third neighborhood will be based on Inside Out and will feature a new attraction that hasn’t been announced yet. And finally, the fourth neighborhood will be a celebration of all Pixar Disney movies with a Pixar themed makeover of Mickey’s Fun Wheel.
The other new and exciting addition to Pixar Pier is the Lamplight Lounge. This area is replacing what used to be Ariel’s Grotto and the Cove Bar. It will serve gastropub cuisine, in a casual, but sleek environment. If you are a huge Pixar fan, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to dine here. While you’re there, be on the lookout for tons of subtle Pixar references hidden. But perhaps most importantly, the Lamplight Lounge will serve the Cove Bar’s most popular menu item, Lobster Nachos.
