I steal clothes from my hubby all. the. time. It’s such an easy way to expand your wardrobe without spending any extra money!! …unless you go shopping saying it’s for your man but really you’re shopping for men’s clothing so you can wear them too. Not that I do that or anything. Okay, fine! I did it last weekend. My husband is a tall, skinny thing and I’m a petite Asian so we naturally wear the same size. I mostly steal button-up shirts, sweaters, and cardigans. If your husband is a lot bigger than you, and you look like you’re wearing a potato sack in his clothes, don’t be afraid to shop around in the men’s department in a size that fits you!
My secret to wearing men’s clothing is to offset the masculine pieces by doing my hair all prettied up, wearing some bold and fancy jewelry, wearing hot heels, or sometimes all of the above. As long as no one calls me “sir” for the whole day, my mission is accomplished!!
So how can you pull off your man’s clothes??
1. Shrink one of his t-shirts “by accident” and then honorably induct it into your side of the closet.
2. Wear his button-down with a blazer over it to create an androgynous look BUT, add feminine touches so you don’t look like a man. I added a Hello Kitty hair bow and a leopard print scarf to mine!
3. Roll up the sleeves and belt it…and add some pearls while you’re at it! Then have a competition with your husband over who wore it best. (Me.)
4. Do the half-tuck and wear it with your favorite pair of skinny jeans.
5. Steal his cardigans because over-sized cardigans are da best.
6. Same with sweaters. Sooo comfy!! You can belt them too!
Have you borrowed from your man’s side of the closet??

You look ADORABLE! Your guy must be much smaller than mine though, I’d look ridiculous if I tried to leave the house in his clothes!

I wish I could steal his stuff! I’m a petite Asian XS & he’s a built whitey XL!
I did steal his tie to make it a belt once. 🙂
Good post though!

I wore my hubby’s shirt to work when I was pregnant. Just rolled up the sleeves and pair it with a chunky bracelet / watch. Nobody knew I was wearing a men’s shirt!

Great tips, especially the belts and girly accessories. I wore stretchy leggings, boots, and my husband’s button up shirts almost every day towards the end of my pregnancy! Way better than spending more $$ on clothes you’ll only wear for a few months. Also check out the thrift store men’s section, they usually have a good selection- sometimes you can find a really funky pattern or colorful plaid or something too.
