Christmas traditions are rampant at our house.
Sorry. Not Sorry.
Nothing makes me smile more than my children anticipating something they love and KNOW is coming. Those memories are irreplaceable.
One of our favorite traditions each year are advent calendars. The most important one to me is the Countdown 25 Days of Christ; however, a close second is the LEGO Advent Calendar.
Funny story, I actually found out about this from one of our readers! We love to share ideas with you, but you guys share just as many with us! This has been a popular, best selling product year in and year out. Each year, Lego comes out with a new version, and each year, my son (and now daughters!) about have a fit when they see it. And with good reason, it’s fantastic.
(Now’s a good time to mention, this post isn’t sponsored. We just love it. Truly.)
This year, we got to cheat, and open up a bit early so we could show it to you. (I guess I’ll just have to get the STAR WARS version come Dec. 1 since we already did this one. 😉 ) I am not kidding when I say since the Amazon box arrived, my 7 year old has been BEGGING, daily (maybe HOURLY) to open the darn thing. When I say it’s popular in my house (and will be in yours too), I’m putting it lightly.
Can I tell you about it?
It comes in a large box. When you light up the front flap, you find a 25 day countdown.
Each numbered “cubby” can be punched out and behind each flap is a little small plastic pouch holding the pieces to a small Lego figure.
(By the way, can someone tell me why 7 year olds can NOT take a “normal” picture? What a goof!)
I need to note (because I spent time looking for one), there is not a set of directions or instructions for each figure. The picture of the Lego figure is on the inside of each cubby flap. My kids had no problem putting each together with just this picture as reference. It’s pretty simple.
Can we just take a moment of silence for my kiddos, putting things together with one another AND NOT FIGHTING.
Legos. Bringing families together one advent calendar at a time.
No, but in all seriousness, this really is something my kids work on together each day as we countdown. Also, it helps me to avoid the inevitable million times a day question “HOW MANY DAYS TILL CHRISTMAS!?!?!”
This set is full of Christmas-y themed Legos. Like this Santa sled.
They have the cutest details! Look at Santa’s bag on the back of his sleigh or the mug in his hand. So darling. There are other characters and figures -like a Christmas tree
It also comes with a little “play mat” for their imaginations to go wild with as they play with their creations.
I asked my kiddos if they thought other kiddos would like the Lego Advent Calendar.
Their response “HECK YES!!!!” My son told me to tell you that you “should buy this for every kid in your house. That way, you don’t have to share with your little sister.”
Oh, that kid.
Really though, we know you will love this if you don’t already! It’s a super fun tradition to have with your family that gets everyone involved. I mean, who doesn’t love Legos?!?!?!
You can nab it
