Christmas in July

I am one of those crazy girls who plays Christmas music the day after Halloween.  So, when we were asked to participate in ‘Christmas in July’, I was beyond thrilled. And, I might have even sung ‘Deck the Halls’. 😉 Some top creative blogs have gathered to create a Holiday Bake, Craft & Sew Along.  Guest bloggers are posting sewing Christmas gifts at Skip to My Lou. At According to Kelly you’ll find some fun crafty non-sewing gifts.     I LOVE Christmas! Spending time with family, the super-excited kids, the sweet charitable acts, and the yummy food! Don’t know how to choose just one… if I had to, it would be seeing my cute kids open their Christmas gifts!

    I love everything about Christmas, First and formost I love the fact that my Savior Jesus Christ was born, I love the lights, smells and sounds of the joy in Everyones souls… I love the traditions of putting the try up as a family, making santa cookies with the kids, building gingerbread houses, decorating the yard together, visit santa to get a picture and send out the kids yearly wish list, just the joy that takes you back childhood, even through the busy shopping to get that perfect gift or making one with lots of love attached to it. Its just a joyous time of year thats wrapped full of love and memory making moments..

    Christmas is my mom’s favorite holiday and therefore she is nothing but excitement from early November until a few days after Christmas. Her enthusiasm is contagious. So fun to think about… even if the winter weather is dreadful.

    There are so many reasons why I love Christmas…maybe it’s the excitement in the air…the presents…spending time with family…parties…I don’t know, but I’m with you. I celebrate it as soon as possible. Decorations go up the day after Thanksgiving!

    It would be more practical to list the things I do not like about Christmas rather than what I like. 🙂 I LOVE Christmas…the fact that our Savior was born, the Christmas lights, the gift giving, the sites, the gatherings, and smells.

    There are just so many things that I love about Christmas.. celebrating Jesus, time with family and friends, the sights, smells and sounds that you only get to experience during that time of the year. It really is magical and now having two kids of my own to share it with makes it even more amazing 🙂

    Oh how I love Christmas! One of my very favorite things about Christmas is giving gifts and packaging them to be lovely. Even the most simple or inexpensive gift can be amazing with a little attention to detail. It is the thought the goes into the gift that makes it meaningful.

    I love Christmas because we get to continue the traditions I did as a kid and add a few new ones of our own. Everything from holiday baking, decorating, gift giving, etc. help to make it a very joyous time of year at our house. The kids have already started to ask about when we can get the Christmas boxes out of the attic!

    Is there anything about Christmas that isn’t great! I am all over Christmas in July this year since our baby is due The first week of Christmas and everything is going to be done Next month so all we have to do is love our little baby.

    I love being with my husband and kids. We are all practically forced to slow down and enjoy a few days together. No swim practice, no gymnastics or dance class, no work, no grocery shopping, no mowing the lawn, no doing laundry…

    We just stay in… prepare some of our favorite foods, read and play games together, and feel so lucky to have each other.

    We used to go to a HUGE family celebration on Christmas, but after the grandparents all died, we changed our tradition. We celebrate with extended family during the days before and after. But on Christmas day, it is just our immediate family. Gifts are not the center of it all—our family is.

    Love the printables! Just think of all the uses…attaching to gifts, mugs, baskets, using in vintage picture frames, creating a festive garland, dangling from the tree or a chandelier…can’t wait till Christmas! I love it!

    All of our relatives get together (no gifts are exchanged, at all), each of us bringing a “dish”, and we sit down to holiday dinner. Going into the kitchen to get something and hearing the yells and chatter going on at the table is the best. That’s a Christmas well spent.

    All of these items are totally adorable! I love Christmas in every way ~ the excitement, the decorations, the music, sharing, parties and having white twinkle lights on the tree, turning off all the lights and just sitting in the quiet with Christmas music, candles lit and soaking up the season with a glass of wine or champagne.

    I have always loved Christmas and now that I have a daughter and watching it through her eyes makes me love it ever more. Christmas morning at our house looks like a toy store landed in it but it’s just watching her that makes me happy. That’s present enough for me.

    Christmas is amazing! Being able to celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus is by far the BEST single thing about Christmas. Jesus is the reason for the season! My daughters would love to leave the nativity sets up all year, especially the one sprawled across our front yard. Giving gifts is another favorite. It makes me feel so good to share with others and see a smile on their face. From the heartfelt presents to my family and friends down to the hot chocolates we pass out to the homeless complete with Christmas stickers on the paper cups.

    There is nothing more magical than Christmas! Surprise under the tree, visits to Santa, gingerbread houses, Christmas carols and Candle Light service. The entire month of December is excitement at it fullest. We leave on Sunday for family camp. One of the theme nights is Christmas at the Creek. So my family will be sporting some Santa hats and reindeer antlers. The camp reenacts the navtivity – very moving.

    I love Christmas because of our traditions, passing down from our families to our children. Each year we cut down our own Christmas tree from a farm, make holiday cookies, gingerbread houses and hopefully get some snow. Also my son’s birthday is the 26th, so we get to double up on the fun!

    I have always LOVED Christmas but was afraid I would dread it after my wonderful and beloved Mom passed away on the 23rd of December. Last year was my first without her and I found that our joy we had for the season was still there..in fact the holiday made her feel closer to me.

    The most wonderful time of the year! Grandkids, kids, baking, lights, the Reason for the Season, celebrations, food, cookies, candy, wrapping presents and giving gifts to everyone I can think of. These would make that much easier – so cute.

    We are a Latin family, and as one, we not only consider parents and siblings as family, but we also include our aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and everybody else we have been in touch while growing up…

    So, I love Christmas, because apart from being a very mixed Latin family [we are mostly Venezuelan (our fathers) but also part Peruvian (our mothers), part German (grandparents), part Italian (grandmother), part Spanish (grandfather) and part French], we make the impossible to get all together in one place on Christmas´ Eve (as some of us live in Venezuela, some in the US, some in Canada, some in Peru, some in Italy), and not only we have a festive chaos, but we do celebrate the true meaning of Christmas by sharing everything we can: stories, food, presents, memories, games, kisses, hugs, traditions (you know how many we have? it´s crazy!)

    … our Peruvian side is very loud, so at midnight you can hear all of us wishing everybody a Merry Christmas, the ladies running to the kitchen to serve Christmas dinner, the young ones running with the little ones to put the baby Jesus on the manger, telling them stories about when we were kids and the presents they would receive from the Baby Jesus (our version of Santa) for being good kids, the men remembering when we were kids and hurrying the ladies over the food so that they can keep up with their traditional food contest (here is when our mixed cultures take place, because we prepare food for like a month).

    LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas! I only get to see my sister every 6 months and we are real close- We see each other every June and every Christmas, so it makes it that much more special!     I am a total kid when it comes to Christmas. It may sound dumb but there is just something magical about it. I of course love watching my children open the gifts they have been dying for Santa to bring but I also love opening presents. I also love having my family together for a big Christmas meal.

    Right after Thanksgiving is when the first cards start arriving at my house and we hang them up on a closet door. They are a beautiful part of christmas and so decorative why shouldn’t they be part of the decor.

    Now I am Australian, so I am not sure if that makes me eligible to enter, but I just want to join the chorus ‘I LOVE CHRISTMAS’ even if its a little different to the snow and cold season that most of you would enjoy.

    I love everything about the Christmas season, even from around the other side of the world. I love the ‘reason for the season’ – Jesus Christ birth. I love watching the kids faces and opening presents. I love teaching them to serve others. I love lazing outside by the beach with extended, eating fresh cold fruits, cold roast meats, and cool drinks and watching the kids play outside.

    But heres my favorite reason I love Christmas….everyone in the world is feeling the same thing at this time of year, and even if we are different…it makes me feel like we are also very much the same.

    Great stuff!! I love Christmas because no matter what’s going on, most people put aside what’s frustrating them and manage to find something to be joyful about. Even if they don’t celebrate Christmas or believe in Christ, they just seem to get happier. Not always. It can be a sad time for many people who are alone, but then someone will knock on their door with a plate of candy cane cookies and all is right with the world again.

    I love decorating the Christmas tree! My husband & I put on Christmas music, make home-made hot cocoa and decorate! The absolute best, though, is being with family & celebrating God! Now y’all have got me all ready for Christmas….it’s too hot here in Louisiana and we might be covered in oil after this tropical storm haha! That’s another good thing about Christmas, hurricane season is over! : )

    I love Christmas and the generosity that comes out in people that time of year. I really hope that I can help my children to realize that Christmas really does come in July (or any other month) if we maintain that spirit of giving that is so plentiful in December and if we draw on that spirit all throughout the year. The wonder of the holiday season is what I do love about Christmas.

    My favorite thing about Christmas is being with my family and giving to others!!! We love door bell ditching where we leave cookies for families we know and don’t know. Decorating the house and making projects together with my kids! I love the feeling of Christmas and how it brings people together. I don’t care about presents! I love seeing people happy! I think every day is Christmas!!! =)

    Christmas makes me happy! It was a big deal as a kid and now I enjoy making it a big deal for my little family. (The fact that I got relocated to Florida due to marriage and Christmas means traveling to Virginia to see my extended family and play in snow factors in a bit too!)

    I love Christmas because I have two little boys and I love to see them mesmerized by the gifts and wondering how Santa can get to all those homes across the globe in one night. I love that we leave Santa cookies and, of course, Santa (daddy) leaves some crumbs leftover to see. I love that my older son, Brandon, who is 5, always remembers the reindeer and we have to leave baby carrots out too (I get to chomp on those). Most of all, I love to bake and share this special season with friends and family. I also remember that Jesus is the Reason for the Season! Peace, love, Joy and happiness – feeling all of this with the people you love is why I adore Christmas.

    So perfect! I love all things Christmas related but my favorite is decorating a medium to xlarge size Christmas trees for nearly every room in our house!!!! Yes, they all have themes and I start putting them up as soon as possible.

    I love seeing Christmas through the eyes of my children. As they get older, it’s awesome to see how the meaning of Christmas for them changes. Oh, and I love having peppermint mochas on cold days with whip cream & candy cane sprinkles. LOL

    It’s the feeling that is in the air and all around us. The natural feeling of love that we tend to forget, but have to recognize during the holidays. The true feeling of Christs love that we are all born with. This is what I love the most about Christmas, and how most people whether they know what they are feeling or not, they still feel something at that time.

    Christmas is my favorite holiday and time of the year. First, it gets cold…well, as cold as it can get here in Hawaii. Second, it gets dark earlier and gives that cozy homey feeling. Third, everything is decorated and sparkly. I love Christmas!

    I love Christmas since we get to celebrate Jesus’ birthday and my 4 year-old asks me every year, “Why do we get presents if its Jesus’ birthday and not mine?” And I get to say because Jesus loves us!! The sound of Christmas music playing, the smell of Christmas cookies, pretty wrapping paper, decorations all over the house, oh my, now I’m super excited for Christmas!!     I love Christmas! Christmas brings about the best in everyone. I love sharing in the Spirit of giving with everyone around me. I love sharing my beliefs through my Christmas decor in my home. I love sending out Christmas cards. I love wrapping gifts. I love giving gifts that are personal and meaningful. The music just changes my attitude at any time. I love Christmas!

    I LOVE Christmas because it’s so magical! Now that I have kiddos of my own, I crave their enthusiasm for Santa, reindeer, fresh snowfalls, and wearing “snowman boots”. It’s an exciting time for traitions and family togetherness. What would the year be without Christmas?!

    I love Christmas because I get to see all the wonder and awe in my daughter’s eyes. This can immediately take me back to when I was her age awaiting the special things the season brings. As an adult, it has become all about giving, and bringing out the holiday spirit in everyone you meet.

    Christmas is my FAVORITE time of the year. With 6 kids (ages 2 – 13), it’s nearly impossible to afford gifts from Santa, gifts for family, teachers, and friends. I love getting crafty with Dollar Store finds (i.e. Snowman Soup, candy bar/popcorn wrappers, embellishing garage sale finds, and on, and on, and on!). I’ve already started collecting project materials! {And I’ll definitely be putting the Silhouette on Momma’s list! ;)} I just found your website the other day and absolutely LOVE IT!!
