Treehouse on the GO, Camping in the AIR, Hammock Tent – no matter what you call it – it is just. plain. awesome.
The minute my boys and I saw this tent mentioned by Jeff Lind on the Tech Report, we were hooked! It has since been the hit of a few scout camps and family camping trips. Every age clamors for turns in the Tentsile tent.
Yes you saw that right – it is NOT touching the ground.
It floats in all its awesomeness in the trees!
WHAT!?!?
So cool right?
You’ve got to go see some of the cool places people have put these things up over on their website! Over rivers, over mountain ledges, stacked on top of each other – crazy cool stuff!
I love what they say on their website about their tents: “Tentsile Tree Tents were conceived as treehouses that you can take anywhere. Our Tree Tents offer an incredible new way for you and your friends to experience a whole new level of freedom and comfort. Separated from wet, lumpy, bumpy, uneven ground and with increased protection from snakes, bugs and other creepies, our range offers the opportunity to camp in places no one has ever camped before. We love trees and plant 3 trees for each tent sold! If we’re all hanging out in trees, they can’t cut them down.”
How do you get in?
You can go in the door, but it is more fun to get in through the zipper hatch right in the middle.
My boys loved having their own place to hang out. They even treated me to a concert in the trees. What a fun memory.
The little kids had fun in their hammock tent treehouse. 🙂
My older boys have taken this to scout camp a few times and all the boys have LOVED taking turns getting to sleep in the air!
If you are worried about set-up and take down, don’t be. The design on this is fantastic – such a simple set up. Just see for yourself in this time-lapse of my two boys setting it up (In real time it took them about 10 minutes)…
and taking it down…
Make your next camping trip an adventure!
Where would you set yours up? Let me know in the comments – I need some ideas!:)
