Why my Toes are ALWAYS Gold

Okay, let’s get personal….let’s talk about socks. No, not as personal as talking about undies, but still, socks are one of those things we have to have and usually we stick to one brand and type. I have a crazy story I’m so glad I get the opportunity to share with you guys and it’s about my socks.

Let’s back up to 10 years ago. I was fresh out of college (and broke!) and my mother drops off a sack full of socks for me to have (aren’t moms the best?!). Her office was sent a shipment of socks for people to try out and she knew I could probably use some new socks. Of course, I accepted them and quickly learned how much I loved these socks she gave me. They were soft, comfy and didn’t wear out after 6 months of wear.

Fast forward to 10 years later and I still have those SAME socks and they are still in the same shape they were 10 years ago when I first received them. Yep, you heard me right. I’ve been wearing the same brand of socks for the past 10 years and I haven’t purchased socks AT ALL (with the exception of some runner’s socks but I’ll get back to that in a minute).

My husband even asked me a couple months ago “Why do you only have one type of socks? Don’t those things ever wear out?!!” I have jokingly called these my “”. Ha!

I became a runner a couple years ago and a runner friend of mine looked at my socks when we were finished up with a run and mentioned that I wasn’t wearing “running socks” and since I was training for a half marathon, I should probably invest in some socks that were made for runners. So off I went to the sporting goods store to buy a couple packs of extremely expensive and colorful runner’s socks. I felt like a legit runner with my new pack of socks. Needless to say, those “runner socks” lasted about 2 months into my training before getting holes and I went back to my ol’ faithful “forever socks” and I haven’t bought running socks since.

A couple weeks ago I was sent some new to try out. The first thing I noticed when taking them out of the box is how soft they were! Oh my goodness, I’ve never felt such a soft sock in my entire life. I knew these socks looked like my “forever socks” but I had convinced myself that they couldn’t be the same brand because they didn’t feel exactly the same. The softness was seriously off the charts.

I called a friend of mine and asked her if she had ever used and I was shocked at how excited she became. Here’s what she said:

A couple days later curiosity got the best of me and I went to visit my mom at her office and asked her about the socks she had gave me. I told her I was trying out Gold Toe socks and asked her if she knew the brand of the socks she gave me years ago. To my surprise, she was able to dig up a couple packs of those same socks in the storage room. Yep, you guessed it….they were !

All these years I’ve been wearing Gold Toe socks and had no clue! Crazy, right?!! So to say that I love the Gold Toe brand would be an understatement. And now that I have these , I’m in sock heaven because not only are they the Gold Toe quality I’ve accidentally tested for 10 years but these socks are the softest thing I’ve ever had on my feet. Win win!
