Top 10 Vintage Finds
Hello Vintage mixed with Urban Rage! Anthrolopolgie, Urban Outfitters, Modcloth??? Old Plank Road, Shabby Chic…
What is it about old stuff that is so new?
Maybe the fact that it lasts so long!
- Grandma’s Mixer = 50 years and is going strong
- Mine = 3 years and on it’s last leg!
Originality, colors???
Here are some my top 10 vintage finds.
The first one…it’s above. Look up. See it? Bulging muscles? Red cape? Clothes on? Now that’s a super hero! Sitting in a pile of baseballs.
The second one…an old Betty Crocker cookbook. Where is the picture you ask? Some lady took it off the shelf right after I had set it up for a photo shoot and bought it.
I couldn’t even get the picture, but it was really cool. Promise.
The lady on the other hand, well she has a really cool cookbook now.
#3 Penny candies. Too bad prices don’t stay vintage.
I know, I know, I had to ask too. A half penny? Was I missing something?
Enter in: Taxes. It’s 0.05$
#4 Pepsi and Coke with a bit of 7up. Nothing else needs to be added here!
#5 A very fresh colored chair with a Monopoly tag. The other side of the tag is the price. Seriously clever way to tag products!
#6 Another cool way to tag products. Even if the picture is a bit blurry. {{Darn lighting..I’d like to blame it on that, please.}}
#7 A chip bowl made with a record. Wait, some of you are too young to know what this is…like Shelley. I’ll let you in. When you put it on a machine (called a record player) you could hear music…kinda like a big CD.
#8 Vintage knobs. Ceramic, glass, oozing with character. {{once again…darn lighting. Please pretend with me that this is a crystal clear picture.}}
#9 Getting up early to get the ‘worm’ with kids sometimes I don’t know if it’s morning or night, but I’m always looking for that worm.
#10 Vintage Micky. Why do I picture that Michael Jackson had this in his house?
#11 Secret trap doors. That you really want to look behind, but are too afraid you’ll get caught! (#11 this is an added bonus to the top 10 list)
#12 Always getting more than you expect.
These vintage finds are in a store in Layton, Utah. I stalk the store…you know what I’m talking about. You have one. The store you go in and look, but don’t stand too close to the cashier in hopes they won’t remember your face so you can go back in the next day!
I finally got up the nerve to see if I could do a HowdoesShe on vintage finds. It did take some nerve. You try it!
They said they’d love to let me and my camera in. I promised I’d tell the store’s name, but if I do you have to promise to leave some of the treasures!?! The General Store, Home of the Co-Op Chicks.
They are having a HUGE mother’s day sale this weekend so if you are lucky enough to live close…get there early. I know I’ll be stopping by! The General Store, Home of the Co-Op Chicks – you can find more info here. They are located in Layton, Utah off of Main Street. If you meet Suzanne and Nancy, don’t tell them they have a store stalker.;)
By the way, this was NOT a paid post…I really do stalk this store. They have really cool stuff.

OMG! My favorite store too!!! I really could live there. It reminds me of my grandmother’s house. The smell. The vintage finds. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.

Am I the only one who can’t stand the misuse of apostrophe’s? That sign should read “the early bird gets the worm.” No apostrophe please. Sorry ~ I just had to vent.
Cheryl says
I noticed that immediately too!

Maybe in the olden days, they didn’t know how to spell. 😉
Super cute sign though! 🙂
