I sure love all of you.
Why?
Because I’m letting you in on one of our family “treasures”!
Let me introduce my beautiful sister-in-law, Erin! Erin is a full time Mommy to one gorgeous little girl, married to her first love, and addicted in love with all things makeup! Erin is creative, athletic, and enjoys sharing her favorite “Makeup Frugal Finds” with others. Professional Makeup Artist with almost a decade under her belt, she loves to follow current trends and make them everyday ‘Mommy’ approved. I love her to pieces and I am so excited that she is sharing her “insider” make-up tips so we can apply like the pros! We all want that, right? Take it away, Erin!
With Winter finally over (or at least lets hope), it’s time to start thinking about warmer weather and out door adventures to the park or Zoo! That said, it’s time to tweak your winter makeup routine of dark lipstick and full coverage foundations to the bright colors and sheer finishes of Spring.
Now, if you’re like me, you tend to get a bit paler in the winter months… If it’s cold out, you’re sure to find me at home, probably in old sweats and slippers, am I right, ladies? My skin easily gets at least 2 shades lighter just from staying indoors. Once the warmer weather comes though, I’m out soaking it up.
By May, my skin tone changes a few shades darker and though most women would think, ‘Oh, I have to go out and buy new makeup’, the answer is NO! Save yourself a few bucks and try this simple trick.
Mix your winter foundation with equal parts of your daily moisturizer and create your own tinted moisturizer.
It lightens up the coverage which is perfect for the warmer months.
Finish the look off with some bronzer to warm up your skin tone and this trick will get you through to Summer. Add a bright lip color, bold cheek or metallic eye and a good coat of mascara and you’ll be ready for Spring fun!
But be sure to only add one focal point, as when eyes, cheeks and lips are all bold, you can look a little like Cruella de Vil. It’s really as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Brilliant!! I’ve always added a little moisturizer to my foundation to make it go on smoother, but I will be adding more!!! I love the idea of it being a tinted moisturizer, instead of full concealer. Bring on light Spring style! 🙂

I’ve been doing this for a long time with my bare minerals – I made a liquid foundation out of the powder. I started this because my skin became too dry for a mineral foundation. Anyway, it’s a super great tip – thanks!!

I have been doing this for years! It really works well. I’m happy more people will get to use this trick.
