bottle cap necklaces
Our friend, Jen threw the most aDoRaBlE pinkalicious party last weekend for her daughter…don’t worry, I took pictures of all the details and a post will be coming.
I hadn’t even heard of this book, Pinkalicious. It is a cute book about a little girl that eats too much sugar food and has to make it right by eating healthy (green) food. Here is a picture of it (consider this your teaser for the whole party post – it was pretty much amazing!)
Until then I will treat you with the party favors she made for her guests…
Materials needed:
Diamond glaze
Bottle caps (you can buy these at craft stores if you don’t have any) The ones she bought had a little circle in the middle that made it perfect to just have the diamond glaze in the middle instead of filling the whole cap with it.
Picture you want to feature cut to appropriate size
Ribbon
1. Take a nail and punch a hole at the top of the bottle cap with a hammer (she showed me how to do this with an aleady made one, so pretend the picture and glaze is no there yet:)
2. file the hole so it won’t scratch
3. Glue picture to inside of bottle cap and pour diamond glaze in and let dry according to package directions.
4. thread ribbon through
5. Done!
Think of all the different things you could do with this idea! I”m thinking initials, holiday themed pictures, polka-dots:)…
Thanks Jen! Can’t wait for the whole party feature!!!

Cute idea! Are the edges of the bottle cap filed down and soft? Pinkalicious is the best girl book EVER! Purplicious and Goldilicious are cute too, but not as cute as Pink.

my girls love this series, pinkalicious, purplicous, and goldilicious, our favorite is purlplicious, she gets teased for liking pink when all the other girls love black, until she makes a new freind…
this afternoon our library is having a fancy nancy party, another great girl series…
jenleahlynn says
how do you keep the edges of the cap from scratching and poking?

I’m SO excited to see the rest of the post for this party. My daughter’s 5th birthday is in July and she wants a Pinkalicious party!! The bottle cap necklaces are adorable. I couldn’t find them in my local craft store when I looked for them to use with another craft, but they are cheap on both Etsy and through Ribbon Retreat in case anyone else has this same issue.
Amie says
even my boys love the pinkalicious book. There is a purplicious book too but we haven’t gotten that one yet. I have only ever seen it in book orders which are at a complete stop since school is out…so I guess we will have to wait for the purplicious party. I want one for me, is that weird…?

Where do you get the pinkalicious picture?
Missy says
She scanned it onto her computer and tweaked it in photoshop to be the right size. She said a little trial and error was involved:)
Michelle says
Most of us don’t have photoshop to edit images. What else do you suggest? These are really cute but without having pre made stickers, I don’t know how I’d make these.
Jen says
We made these with magnets superglued to the back. Then some strtchy cord attached to a metal washer. Then they can interchange them.
Wendy says
My daughter LOVES Pinkilicious but has her heart set on a Goldilicious birthday party. Do you have any ideas?
Batya says
I love it, but I can’t see the pictures 🙁
Shelley says
Hum. I wonder why?! I can see them. Maybe give it an hour or so and then refresh? Let me know if you still have issues. 🙂
Naomi Clapp says
where can i find the Pinkalicious picture that will fit in the bottle caps?
Kelly says
Can I get some ideas, of how to make a pinkalicious birthday party in a swimming pool?
Richelle says
I’m getting ready for my daughter’s pinkalicious party and this is on the top of the “to do” list!!
