I cut my son’s hair in the tub. He sits on a step stool with a pull-up, hair is contained, then I use a wipe for clean up. (we don’t have a huge amount of hair to swipe up) Then a quick tub rinse and a bath! Done!

I have been cutting my guys hair for 21 years now using the same pair of Wahl clippers. Back when I bought them you could buy an attachment from Wahl that connected your clippers to the vacuum cleaner. It sucked up the hair as you cut. Less mess. Fewer “itchies”. Love it.

Four kids. We have cut their hair for sixteen years. I particularly enjoy when I can cut it outside on our deck. No cleanup inside!

I do my own family(since I’m a stylist) the oil is to keep the blade lubricated & not to rust, I suggest you do it after you’re done & clean the hair from the blades, then run it a few seconds. By the way, you did a nice job.
