Yesterday, I went to bed completely exhausted. We had run from basketball camp, to a service project, to a fun friend picnic, to swim lessons, to softball games and then to a BBQ. I thought Summer was supposed to be relaxing? All us busy ladies know that’s NOT always the case. That being said, it’s the BEST and most fun time of year! I love enjoying the sunshine and being with loved ones – especially after the crazy year we had last year!
When you’re on the go, and facing a lot of different TYPES of activities. It’s good to have a few looks that are your go-to’s. Good thing Walmart is on top of it! Your one stop shop for ALL your wardrobe (and every other need!). I love that I can have things shipped to my house free (orders $35+) and much of it ships in just 2 days!
- A Workout look
Our family is always running from one sport to another, and just like athleisure is a go-to in the Winter, it’s even better in the HEAT of Summer.
I loved this Avia skirt. It has built in biker shorts that give you the cute look of a sport skirt, but the security of a short! I paired it with this simple t-shirt that has a fun knot to distract from any funny business going around in the tummy area (Anyone else?) It comes in a few colors and has a looser fit that I’m digging.
This is the second year I have purchased these rompers for my girls. They’re cool, cute, and perfect for Summer sports. They fit pretty TTS (Up to size 18) and are SO comfy. We also used them as swim suit cover ups! At under $10, these are coming in clutch every day! They also released some new patterned versions that we’re also loving. - An Errand Look
I guess you could say my overall style is pretty simple. I love classic and versatile pieces that can be worn over and over in a variety of ways. I found this top and immediately purchased it in 3 colors (This olive, and 2 denim shades). That’s how great it is! The fit is superb. I adore how the sleeves are cut because I have thicker arms and I feel like how they are slimming. The buttons are functioning and would be a great choice for a nursing mama!
I’m still not fully convinced the wide leg trend is something I’m on board with….(skinny for life!); however, I’m willing to give it a good go! If you’re looking for a COMFORTABLE jean, these are the ones you need to snag. They have just the right amount of stretch that will fit to your curves and leave you with room to move! I was SO surprised that these were literally as comfortable as some of my work out pants. I also love the unfinished hem that is the perfect ankle length. I felt like they fit pretty TTS. I’m normally a 4/6, but because of the stretch, grabbed a 4 in these!
One thing IS for sure, they’re cooler and more comfortable than any of my skinny jeans. If you’re wanting to try something new, I highly recommend these!
3. A Pool look
If I’m being honest, 6 kids later, poolside isn’t my favorite place to be. I’m still not comfortable with my ever changing body that seems to be a lot different than it was even 5 years ago. That being said, I’m working to be comfortable with it. One thing that that has helped my confidence is a good cover up. I don’t have to be tugging and pulling as much. I know lots of people prefer short cover ups, but I want something that will truly COVER.
I found this dress and fell in love! It’s not technically a TRUE cover up, but I think it works as one! It’s versatile! I can throw it on with a denim jacket and wedges and have an awesome date night look too! And can you even with that tiered skirt? Super on trend! It comes in several colors, but this BRIGHT color just screamed SUMMER to me!
My tween son told me I looked like a highlighter, but I’m here for it.
I paired it with a fun sun hat and these must have quilted cross sandals. I’m seeing this “quilted” show style everywhere this season and I actually love it! They make great pool shoes that will easily transition to dinner shoes since they’re dressier than say, a flip flop.
I think these 3 simple looks will really cover a lot of different types of Summer activities!
You can wear all of them in a variety of ways. Mix it up by pairing the sandals with the athleisure skirt. Or, take the olive top and wear it with skinny white jeans, or even a denim skirt!
Not to mention, all of these items are super budget friendly!
You can’t go wrong with any of these pieces and your wallet will thank you!
