How about an easy Mother’s Day Idea?
Two food posts in a row for me??? Is there something wrong…am I pregnant?
Ummm…Nope, at least to the pregnant part:)
I keep dreaming in strawberries though! Strawberry season is here! Red delicious sweet…really sweet strawberries. Is it bad to eat an entire container at one time? (how about 2?…just asking:)
I had left over baggies, sticks, and chocolate from Shelley’s Oreo Cookies Tutorials…so how about using up what you’ve got to create something new! Hey…Happy Earth Day!
Chocolate and Strawberries = De.LIC.ioUS
Plump ripe sugary strawberries dipped in a creamy cool milk chocolate…that screams hello Spring!
(I’m using all these adjectives so Missy thinks I’m cool)
So…
How about on a stick?
How about an idea for Mother’s Day?
How about that…I’m a mother!
Don’t they kinda look like roses?
I put them in a vase…I wanted to do a dozen but they didn’t last, so you can see what three looks like.
Here’s the trick:
Find it…the center spot and stab it! Stab it good, so that the end will go to the end of the strawberry, but not out the other end.
It should look like this.
I used the Walton chocolate that Shelley said to use in her Oreo cookies. Make sure the strawberries are dry or the chocolate goes funny. Dip and lay them down on wax paper. Let harden.
Variation: use your white chocolate and then drizzle milk chocolate over the top.
Display in a vase.
Let me know if you want me to forward this post on to your husband/boyfriend/kids so they can make them for you…
Fun, tasty, easy Mother’s Day Ideas!
These are some flowers I like!

Those look great!! The photography does as well. (another one of my hobbies as well). If our strawberries hadn’t been overtaken by field grass last year we might have been able to try these. Here is to hoping the new berries, when we get them planted, do better in raised beds.

You know, my mom is one of those hard to please people. She is so decidedly picky about presents but these she would like.

Alison, I’m with you on your strawberry addiction… THEY’RE WONDERFUL! I love the giant ones you can buy at costco. And the best part is they come in 3-5 lb packages. HEAVEN! I wouldn’t mind a bouquet of these for mother’s day. –Honey, are you reading this?
Sarah says
I do this EVERY Mother’s Day, because we have a brunch that I host for our ladies group at church, and I can think of nothing ladies like better than that combo. 🙂 Your photos are just stunning!!
