- Leapfrog Scribble and Write – Leapfrog is known for their learning electronic toy, and this one tops the list in our house. If you have a preschooler/Kindergartener learning their letters/numbers or leaning to write, this is a total win. It teaches you how to form letters! It’s the only way I’ve found to convince my 3 year old that learning can be fun. He think it’s a little tablet like his older siblings’ tablets. I love that he’s learning. I’m sneaky like that!
- Learning Picnic – This has been a favorite year after year with our HDS readers, The Learning Picnic basket doesn’t just provide hours of imaginary play, but it also develops fine motor skill and supports color and shape identification. My toddler packs this thing around the house constantly, and it’s been a favorite with all my 5 kids. I always find it interesting what younger kids are drawn to, and this is one of those “everyone loves it” toys.
- Globber Scooter – I first saw this scooter at my friend’s house. I’ve seen alot of scooters in my day, but this one stands out – especially for the younger kids. First off, it LIGHTS UP. Instant crowd pleaser with that. I also adore it because the handle is adjustable; hence, it grows with your kiddo. The 3 wheel version is fantastic for your preschool/toddler age child as it helps with the balance issue. These are REALLY great and will provide tons of outdoor entertainment.
- Magnatabs – Another learning toy. (I can’t help myself people!) This board has little metal beads enclosed (safely) in the board. You use a little magnetic stylus to pull the beads up and then “pop” them back down. IT sounds simple, because it is, but all my kids have been fascinated with it! It’s great for fine motor skills and helps with letter/number identification if you get the letter or number board. There is also just a free play one.
- Baby Lit books – We’ve owned these for awhile now and they’re still my go to gift for younger kids and baby showers. These books are classic stores and literature in board book form. Learn counting from Jane Eyre or weather form Wuthering Heights, there are many to choose from and they’re honestly just beautiful.
- Kwik Stix – I have a confession, as much as I want to encourage creativity in my children, sometimes the art messes drive me a bit batty. These Kwik Stix are so neat. They are tempera paint in SOLID form. They look like a glue stick and when drawn with, they are vibrant and have a more paint consistency – without the mess. These are AWESOME, and if you haven’t tried them, please do!
- Disney Animators Princesses – I’ve had a lot of princess lovers in my house with 3 daughters, and I have to be honest, I love every minute of it. These little figurines are fantastic quality, and they are so dang cute. Their little faces are more childlike. All your classic princesses are there – 12 in total. These are a great catalyst to imaginary play, and guys, DISNEY PRINCESSES. You just can’t say no or go wrong.
- Vintage Kitchen – Another POPULAR HDS reader toy. Year after year, this one is a top seller. I really like the Kid Kraft brand. It’s good quality (ours has held up well), and it comes in fun colors. Interestingly enough (or maybe not!) this is one toy I have seen all 5 of my kids playing with TOGETHER! Again, imagination brings us together!
- Playdough Letters – Can you ever go wrong with playdough? No. Never. This set I really love because it gives you a tactile way to work with letters. It’s a great one for pre writing or pre reading!
- Sea Patrol Boat – I had to put this in there because we love Paw Patrol in our house. Yours too? This has been deemed one of those “HOT TOYS OF 2017” so if you see one in stock, and want it, GRAB IT!
