*This post is sponsored and inspired by Curate Snacks and their unexpected bold flavors. If you like your fashion a little on the cool side, you’ll love these exciting combinations!
When I was six years old, my mom took me to my first vintage clothing shop. I watched in awe as she ran her fingers over colorful chiffon blouses that reminded me of sunflowers and milkweed. She sifted through dangling belts of weathered leather and I pretended they were a beaded curtain for me to disappear into. Every vintage handbag and high-heeled shoe was a ticket for me into not necessarily a new world, but an old one, full of stories. My love for vintage fashion was born.
But I’m also a modern girl who likes to blaze my own trail. I love mixing and matching pieces in unexpected ways to make each outfit exciting. A little old mixed with a little new.
Curate Snack bars are all about mixing unexpected ingredients to make snacking much more exciting. They incorporate bold, unexpected flavors that leave your tastebuds curious, entranced, and wanting more. Curate bars come in six intoxicating flavors, like my latest finds: Salted Decadence and Sweet & Tart. {Confession: I’ve already eaten two today.}
I love Curate’s mission to bring us wonderfully surprising snacks that defy our expectations of what a healthy bar should taste like. That’s how I like to look at fashion too: unique and bold, combining pieces you wouldn’t normally think of.
Curating fashion means having a sharp eye for pieces that really speak to you. The clothes you wear can be fun, exciting, and show off your unique and quirky personality. Try curating some fun vintage pieces with modern staples to make outfits that really stand out above the crowd!
My Vintage Fashion Finds
- Camouflaged military jacket (I was SO excited about this one!)
- Faux fur vest
- Bright yellow chiffon blouse
- Pleated twill skirt
- Cool vintage Avengers t-shirt
- Amazing leather Ariat boots (Oh my heck, this was an amazing find!)
- Genuine leather satchel, weathered in all the right places

Vintage stores are full of unexpected finds. In fact, I never go in trying to find a particular thing. The best vintage shopping comes when you browse around and let items speak to you. Here are some fun ways to curate vintage fashion into your everyday wardrobe.
I love everything about this outfit. The oversized military jacket, a modern chambray dress, and the boots and satchel I snagged vintage.
Thrift and vintage stores are the best places to pick up vintage t-shirts. You can find the best college tees, band tees, and yes, superhero tees. Plus, they already have that great worn look.
Pops of color are a must. I love adding in unexpected color bursts into an outfit. And this amazing purple belt…amazing on my wallet too. Only $2! I’m going to wear it with pretty much everything I own.
I recall my grandma owning an amazing twill skirt similar to this one. I loved wearing it—made me feel like a hip college girl. Oh yeah, another place to score vintage…your grandma’s closet!
And faux fur, gosh I just couldn’t resist. This vest is so versatile, going well with a bright turquoise top, cutoff shorts, metallic clutch, and strappy sandals.
So don’t be afraid to add a little vintage pizazz to your fashion! Curate your own vintage pieces by adding a few unexpected items and pops of vibrant colors. Oh, and discover something new! Try Curate bars for the perfect pick-me-up snack when you’re out and about and be wowed by their delicious, unexpected flavors. Find the closest Curate-carrying store near you and get your cutie patootie down there!
